  • Not a new deal, been around for months, but a good deal nonetheless. Bought it last week - when I get home next week I'll give it a whirl

    • Last one I saw with the same pricing was 7 months ago (different coupon code) but you're right about them always having some kind of promotion running.

BEWARE of the horrible service and average tasting products! If your on a budget it's ok, but I would prefer to go elsewhere.

    • such as….??

pls let us know. I'll need to stock up soon

Venoms reputation on the Whirlpool forums us slowly going down the tubes. A few customers were getting their protein very late and the bags would be split open, no replies from customer service. Unfortunately I think you should avoid these guys.

This is exactly what happened to me. One of those reviews is mine..

        • Yup, same here! Very disappointed…
I neg their last deal for same reason.

      Give Bulk Nutrients a go

  • Wow felt like only the other day that had this special! For those interested I purchased the following flavours last week.

Mango - 7/10 - Flavour was good a bit weak and a slight hint of a "natural WPC" after taste
Rocky Road - 9/10 - Flavour was great, definitely up there with some of the best, could actually taste the individual elements of Rocky Road (marshmallow, choc and a hint of cherry).
Banana - 8/10 - Flavour is more artifical than real, but I like that style banana so I enjoyed this
Caramel - 1/10 - Flavour was terrible, tasted like a "natural WPC" with a hint of something - not too sure.

    Overall

Mixability - 6/10 - still has small lumps even with a blender
Texture - 6/10 - the small lumps are quite annoying
Cost - 10/10 - to be able to purchase 4 individual flavours at a fraction of the cost of other places is fantastic.

    • Phew! Glad I didn't order caramel now. I got mango, rocky road, chocolate and cookies & cream.

darn it I ordered a ton of caramel last time they had a special, haven't tried it yet as I got some No bull WPI left. From one mistake right into another. ugh.

    • I have tried the Caramel WPI also - Exactly the same (awful). The Butterscotch nighttime protein is also a 1/10.. Terrible flavour!

    • Chocolate Night Time Protein is also a 1/10 from me, tastes like natural protein with something added - can't taste the chocolate at all!!

I bought Butterscotch WPI and it tastes alright, but wouldn't grab it again.

I bought 4x1KG bags of WPI unflavoured just the other week from them.

Taste is fine, no issue there at all. The problem is the mixability or lack thereof. I have never used another protein powder that is so difficult to mix. The first time I had a shake I had bits of protein stuck to my teeth :/

I've used a lot of different brands, some really cheap and nasty ones and this is probably the worst I can recall. I'm using probably a good quality BlenderBottle with wire whisk which doesn't help greatly.

I manage to slightly work around it by adding water first (not too much - 250ml for 40G protein), add the protein and shake thoroughly (and I mean thoroughly). If you add too much protein or water it doesn't seem to like it at all.

It digests well for me and doesn't leave any aftertaste so those are positives (or minimum expectations, I suppose).

Forget the included bottle - it's very poor quality. Flimsy thing which leaks.

It's got Sucralose in it… Man, I'm not gonna let you poison me. I threw it on the ground. You must think I'm a joke. I ain't gonna be part of this system.

Man! Pump that garbage in another man's face.

    • Almost all flavoured protein has some kinda of crap artificial sweetener in it, just buy the natural stuff.

      • +5

Exactly, I don't know why anyone buys the flavoured. I just have plain WPC and water, get it down and move on.

Rocky road flavour? People need to harden up.

DOWN!!! UP!!! DOWN!!!UP!!! C'MON MORE ENERGY!!!

    • Happy birthday TO THE GROUND

  • cookies and cream / caramel / butterscotch….AVOID these 3 flavours if you are buying. (Learnt from experience! :( ) All the others are ok

  • The naturalistic fallacy seems to be quite rampant here on OzBargains (as well as most everywhere else). There is absolutely nothing wrong with a bit of Sucralose as long as you realise that its inclusion/flavouring in general comes at the expense of purity.

    • Just buy the cleanest individual components and put them together yourself, this is the only way you are going to keep the purity and know what is in your food.

      • Or get over the protein powder hype and eat food.

I have emailed them 3 times and called them once (left a message) to ask if there is any sugar in their WPC. No reply at all. Very poor customer service.

I ask because their powders are very sweet. I got the butterscotch flavour. It taste more like sweet plastic than butterscotch..

    • Did you read the ingredient label?

    • Very, very unlikely. Sweetener is cheaper as they only have to use a very small amount compared to sugar.

"Sweet plastic" sums up artificial sweeteners quite well, actually.

  • Just bought WPC cookies and cream, arrived very fast (2 days) but two of the four bags split upon arrival. To their credit they offered a reply paid service and i sent them back and they are being replaced but still the packaging does seem very prone to splitting. Flavor wise, its ok… thats about it. Can palate it with no aftertaste. Mixability wise, it sucks. There is no other way to describe it. I cannot mix without horrendous gelatenous lumps forming. Next time I'll try bulk nutrients. Have heard nothing but praise for their proteins.

Could be I set a low level benchmark for the least expensive drink, but I've not been displeased by either of the Plain; /Chocolate; /Caramel; /Coffee- flavoured WPC.
Ie. Packaging, arrival, flavour - all good to me on first experience.

The only difficulty I'd repeat is with this sticky clumpy / texture issue. Not so much as for palatability, but for a grievance where it stick to the lining of my container = Wastage& Cleaning. That Being the case I give Mixability an 8. But by that I mean elbow grease combined with one top secret turbine shaker; which indeed go to ameliorate it, but essentially for following the BELOW technique (credit to cyssero).

I manage to slightly work around it by adding water first (not too much - 250ml for 40G protein), add the protein and shake thoroughly (and I mean thoroughly). If you add too much protein or water it doesn't seem to like it at all.

End of the day I tend to agree, with the more one pays for it, the higher your chance of getting ripped - by those unscrupulous, we know to exist. Might even look into the Soy-based SIP as I already mostly mixing with that same healthy drink (and then supposing it isn;t Whey better than that Milk Powder- C).

  • Anyone has tried the mass gainer?
    Is the quality good?
I bought night time protein / slow release last year. It tastes ok but it does not mix easily.
