      Works for me.

      • extra 20 off if u buy on the app that not work???

  • Is a 4 cell battery a problem?

  • I'm in no rush, but looking for a laptop for basic stuff (internet browsing), watching videos and the rare video encoding. I'm also going to be keeping the laptop for a very long time. For this reason, Toshiba for reliability, and i7 for future proofing seems like a good buy. The graphics card is a bit redundant, but might help with video playback which I'll do a fair bit of. It will be kept at home, so no need for large battery life.

Seem like a good buy for me then?

    • Sure. This will handle all that fine. The discrete GPU is unnecesarry for video playback. The integrated GPU would be fine for that. The integrated GPU may actually be better for video encoding as it supports Quick Sync.

This is a decent machine for the price, and the large rotational disk is great for storing videos. However, if it also had a SSD cache that would make day-to-day use nicer. You may also want to consider whether you want something smaller and lighter or with a Full HD screen. Anything from a SandyBridge i3 up should be fine for your purposes; an ergonmic i3 with an SSD cache may be more pleasant to use.

      • Yea I'm going to chuck away the HDD anyway (use it as external), install a SSD in place. I have 80g in my current lappy, and have never needed more.
About the discrete GPU, I suppose I'd consider buying this even it it didn't have one. And I think Toshibas are generally better quality and more expensive than HP and Acers which have some cheap lappys out every now and then - but I'm looking at keeping this for 5 years!

Don't need FHD, would just make me squint more! And it's very rarely (if at all) going to be used outside, so don't care too much about portability.
