To get a 12-month Google AI Pro student trial at no cost, follow the steps below:

  1. On your device, go to Google One.
  2. Verify your student status through SheerID.
  3. Add a form of payment.
  4. Complete the trial purchase flow.

To get a Google AI Pro student trial, you must be:

  • At least 18 years old.
  • A student and resident in the country or region where the Google AI Pro student trial is offered. Learn where the Google AI Pro student trial is available.
    • Eligible students in Brazil, Indonesia, Japan, US, or UK who previously redeemed the Google AI Pro student discount can continue to use their benefits. They’ll be prompted to verify their eligibility through SheerID to continue their trial and get 12 months of the student discount.
  • Using a single personal Google Account for the student discount to apply.
  • Enrolled at an eligible higher education institution where Google AI Pro student trials are offered.
    • The eligibility of the institution is verified through SheerID.
  • Verified as a student by SheerID.
  • A Google Payments account owner with a qualified form of payment when requested.
  • Subscribed to Google AI Pro through Google Play.

New and existing Google One members are eligible, except:

  • Family group members.
    • Members of the family group can’t sign up and aren’t recommended to leave their shared plan.
    • To enroll in a new plan, the plan manager must cancel the current plan first.
  • Members subscribed to a higher storage plan than the one being offered.
  • Members subscribed through third-party partners, Pixel Pass, or Google Fi.

      Same with me. Had a Google One sub that I paid for annual subscription (2TB) storage. Enrolled into student sub, automatically got refund email (pro rata) for my annual sub. Amazing!!

    Tip: I put University of Bedfordshire, they dont have SSO with SheerID so no student login required, and it didn't ask for any evidence - went straight through.

      you will have full access to it, but won't be able to add more, or receive any emails, and you will have to delete back to your package, and in 2 years time you'll lose your data.

    I posted this in the forum for help. This doesn't work if you are in Australia as stated in the Ts and Cs. Even with VPN, or creating an email in the corresponding country. Have tried incognito. If you managed to get it, let us know.

    Had the 2tb annual plan subscribed via turkey apple store expiring on may 2026.
    Verified student status using the TAFE email address successfully.
    Was getting error OR-RWE-03 when subscribing with payment via PayPal.
    Cancelled the turkey apple store subscription, added a new credit card and subscribed successfully.
    Now I am not sure whatever is going to happen with the remainder of my turkey apple store plan

    How does SheerID work? I still have access to my uni email address which is how student verification used to work, but don't have access to my uni portal anymore.

      As long as you can log in it should be fine. Whenever I've had to verify using SheerID it makes me log into Outlook using my uni email and thats it.

        Cloud storage from Google 1 I already had using an old topic from Ozb. Next day Google banned everyone. Also, there was a case when they instantly deleted account of a company because didn't create it correctly to begin with. No data survived. No, thank you, pass again.

    I used a student email. However, it didn't ask to verify the email—just the student ID.
