I wonder if Angelcare knows what HD and HQ really means. From the Angelcare Digital Video, & Sound Monitor AC1100 product page i can read:
This unique 3-in-1 baby monitor not only shows you HQ video of your baby (day and night)
Full colour CMOS Video Camera (240 x 320 pixels). During day and night, the AC1100 will show every movement from your baby through the HD 15 fps camera

  • No opinion on the deal, but just wanted to offer a quick word of advice for prospective parents that are looking at buying one of these. The pads that go under the mattress can be (mine was from 3 years ago, but I assume it still applies) very touchy. Even something as soft as a ceiling fan can cause the sensor to play up, and send out those "your baby may have stopped breathing" type noises.

We've had this with our third child. We don't use the sounds but just the sensor that if there is no movement the alarm will go off. Something like ceiling fan may actually cause the sensor sense there is a movement and therefore not alarming if there would be a real issue with the baby. Have to admit that I was laughing about this whole thing beforehand but actually I've found this really useful and at least making me feel more comfortable.

    • There's a dial to adjust the sensitivity of the pads. I've used one of these in a few different cots and it shouldn't take more than 60sec to get it right

  • These are great, though I'd recommend you buy from Amazon.com (US) - you will pay at least half the price, all you need to do is buy is a couple of cheap 240v Australian style power plugpacks (around $15 ebay) and throw out the US 110v ones which come with it.
