  • Was checking on stock orders for other stuff, apparently ultimo is out.

    • I just ordered thru Ultimo for Pickup order went thru

    • I just rang them, apparently they have plenty of stock available in warehouse.

Put an order through too with no problems.

      • Tell em to send to their stores!

        • Sorry, actually turns out i was in there getting other stuff i needed and they actually had some.

I think some more came in that afternoon or something. Sorry if i put anyone off heading out there.

But yeah the chap said to next time pre-order and reserve them, as i asked about the western digital passports on special and he said they were all gone by lunch time.

I didnt really need the wifi extender but for $19 i wanted to get it and test and compare it a netgear one i had.

  • went to the hurstville branch around 2:30pm, all gone.

  • I have pretty awful wifi coverage within my house, I have a crappy cg3000 from optus and by half way through my house, on the same floor as the router, the signal is dropping to ~30-50%. Will this help me get it to the other end of my house? The furthest point I need coverage is about 30m away from the router, between this point and the router are about 2 brick walls and the concrete floor slab.

Would it be possible/beneficial to chain 2 or more of these together to get the signal I need? I've read the comments about halving bandwidth and it won't be an issue for me, the top speeds I get are about ~5MB/s anyway.

The throughput from the second range extender will be 1/4 of that from the router. Will that remain acceptable?

      • That's a good point, I might just place my two extenders in different parts of my house to boost the router's signal instead of chaining them.

  • Spoke to the guy at msy in malvern when i was picking up my hard drive. I don't know what happen but we had 200 emails this morning about the extender. I thought 'um ozbargain?' hahaha right!

I cancelled an order I had for 2 extenders at Ultimo, so they may appear again in stock for anyone that wants to pick them up.

Cancelled because I accidentally went through with a purchase from their warehouse, and only after I had placed the order did I receive a confirmation message.

  • Dear customer,Sorry, all of the extender has been reservered by other customers beforeyou. Please contact us a few days later to see if the new stock arrived ornot.

    damnnnnnn!!!! :(

    It's gone up to $24 :/

    • Bastards, was gonna go tomorrow

  • +1

Why has it gone up to $24 from $19?

    • Guess they saw all the sales suddenly going through and reacted.
I think Ozbargain alone is enough to put a huge spike in sales.
This place must be worth an absolute fortune in terms of advertising reach now.

  • Completely no stock left @ Ultimo

All stocks are sold out. Thank you very much for your support.

    • What happens to orders that are still processing?

Cause I got the email that my order is processing, but haven't got any confirmation about current situation.

    • +4

Not happy, I was one of the first ones to have submitted an order and I still got an email saying the following:

"Sorry but as the Western Digital WDBAPK0000NCH-AESN MyNet WiFi Range Extender was extremely popular, we have entirely run out of stock australia wide and will not able to stock anymore of them."

If you didn't have enough stock then why did you let me check out? Something wrong with your stock level counting within your system.

I Brodened 10 if anyone wants to pay an inflated price on my eBay page.

It's still under retail, just like Broden taught us.

    • Joke?
If not your acting like a real asshole.

      • +2

You really had to ask that question? Do you know the Legend of Broden?

Hey, aliens DID land at Roswell too.

        • Not a worry ;)
Woosh (that's the sound of me not getting your joke first time round)
Sad thing is there are people on here that actually do come on and do brag that way.

  • Had any one tried to hook this up to their Billion 7800n? I am having no luck with WPS connection

This extender is awesome and I think it is pretty efficient, I've placed so that I get signal in a dead zone with the extender being just in my normal range (2/5 signal bands) and I'm now getting full bars in the dead zone with approximately 50% of my full speed like people stated I would, it's still 1-1.5MB/s which is fine with me and the upload hasn't changed so I'm very happy with this. I don't even need my second one now, I could place it somewhere to get full bars all over the place, but it's not needed. $48 inc. shipping for the 2 was very worth it.
