I hate shops that try to make money with shipping.

A flat rate of $8 per unit applies Australia-wide, using AusPost or other selected carriers. Delivery typically takes 3–8 business days.

even with shipping, isn't it the cheapest?

Not that I think this is a great buy (I guess if you need a 1TB 2.5 SSD it's OK), but how much do you think they are profiting off an $8 parcel shipping charge?

If you look at past revisions, when he first made that comment, the $8 shipping wasn't mentioned in the deal. Maybe it was more and they reduced it after reading his comment?

the $8 was mentioned by dosada 14 minutes after posting the deal lol :D

@axivu: $8 shipping is definitely fair, but per unit it is a joke. So if I order 4 of them shipping is $32?

1TB? What is this, a NAS for ants?

This WD Green SATA SSD is a DRAM'less SATA SSD and a fairly old model. Unlike NVMe SSDs, SATA cannot use HMB to compensate the lack of on-drive DRAM, so this SSD should perform fairly slow and unresponsive. If I recall correctly, reviews of this SSD wasn't particularly impressive either.

At a price (excluding shipping) of more than $75 per TB, I think this is fairly bad value for a slow and old drive. If you have spare slots to install NVMe drives, there are a couple of much faster options (and I think are much better value) close to this price range, for example, WD SN3000 1TB NVMe SSD on Scorptec. So unless you really need a SATA SSD, I wouldn't consider getting this SSD.

  • We have seen a huge failurerate on some batches of the WD Greens, id avoid. evan brand new.
