  • again? Yes!

  • Just wondering if anyone who purchased this unit can comment on the quality of the stream? How far did the signal go? I also understand you can buy more than one unit and stream to multiple rooms, has anyone tried this?

    • I got one during that group buy and I'm glad I did. It's brilliant - pretty easy to set up and I haven't noticed any lag or reduction in stream quality in 1080p over approx 10m through 2 walls. Once it's set up, I just leave it on all the time. The flashing light on the front is a bit annoying and bright but it can be covered.

      Easily worth $89.

Haven't tried it with more than one unit.

My unit from the last group buy deal works really well with Foxtel IQ2 streaming 1080i perfectly to my upstairs TV about 10-15 metres away.

The only thing I found (the hard way), because of HDCP issues, you will need to buy an active/powered HDMI splitter if you want to use it with Foxtel.

I bought a splitter cable (1 in 2 out) and it stops working as soon as you have 2 devices plugged in at once.

My active one is on the way now…

        • I read the description but just want to make sure:

So the purpose of this device is to have the unit in one place and the TV on the other?

Is there any other uses? And is this mainly used for Foxtel because it is impossible to put the Foxtel unit upstairs with your TV?

        • "you will need to buy an active/powered HDMI splitter if you want to use it with Foxtel."

Hi mate, can you please point us to where you bought this?

Also do you mean to spilt the HDMI output from your Foxtel needs an active/Powered HDMI Splitter so that you can have two outputs at a time?

How do you connect them? One to the TV, another to this Belkin ScreenCast? is that right?

          Cheers

Just got one from ebay here:

          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/161016413620?ssPageName=STRK:MEWN…

Foxtel only has 1 HDMI out - so if you wanted to watch Fox on 2 TV's (same channel, one TV at a time) then you need to have 2 HDMI outs to go to your current TV and to the Belkin Screencast at the same time.

        • Everything mentioned above has taken the words right out of my mouth.
I found this splitter to be ideal - speedy Aus delivery too - probably can be found cheaper OS but I wanted local Perth pickup - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HDMI-2-Port-Mini-Splitter-1x2-1-i…

Any other questions, happy to help!

        • What is the best way to work this with a receiver?

At the moment Foxtel goes into receiver and receiver into TV

Will I put this splitter in between Foxtel and receiver?

          Thanks

I wonder why you got negged, wildstone? You were just asking a question.

        • +1

Yes, I've got Foxtel to splitter to Amp/Transmitter - works a dream!

        • +1

Looks good but does everything have to be powered - with the Belkin Screencast and the splitter I need another two power sockets! My home theatre power board is already full!

        • So the purpose of this device is to have the unit in one place and the TV on the other?

Yes, that is the usual purpose for this product.

Rysith has purchased a separate splitter such that his Foxtel unit can output 2 HDMI. Then he plugs 1 into his TV next to the Foxtel Unit, and the other into the Belkin transmitter. Then he has a Belkin receiver in the other room. His issue is related to the separate splitter he has purchased (not being able to output to 2 HDMI simultaneously).

      • Hi guys, does it transmit the remote control signals as well, or you need to have some additional hardware to do it? Thanks.

        • Has an IR blaster included so remote control signals work from your remote TV to your original device location.

        • Cool, thank you.

  • I'm so tempted to buy one of these. Just in case I get a projector… Must resist… Too much junk in the house as it is… Damn you Ozbargain…

    • +4

      I am weak… I bought one…

    • Half the fun of owning a projector is crawling around in the roof :)

  • Missed the last deal, although I don't need it I couldn't pass it up.

    • +1

i am still trying hard to convince myself that i do need one, but the fact is i do NOT need it at all…

  • Thanks, looks great for my foxtel.

  • Than just bought one
    And dont no whyy ??

  • Woohoo, I have one but I got another for a different room.

    Thanks OP!

  • Just bought one, but thinking about a 2nd unit.

Can 2 separate units be used in the same house? (note, I am not asking to send 1 source to 2 TV) but rather 2 separate sources to 2 individual TVs?

    • Hello freind, I beleive this is possible. I found this:

      http://www.belkin.com/au/support-article?rnId=6643

It talks about pairing more than one transmitter, so you can choose the transmitter you want.

      • +1

        Thanks ernieBob,

        Your a champ!

I'll try this one out and then possibly by another when the next group buy comes along!

I still have a Network TV Tuner to install that I bought months ago! (WIFE WILL KILL ME!)

        • I did call Belkin pre-sales with this enquiry and was told it could not be - so not 100% sure that the instructions are correct.

EDIT - have a look at paragraph seven - not possible sadly - http://www.pcauthority.com.au/Review/295975,belkin-screencas…

        • Hello all,

I interpreted GLO's definition of "2 seperate sources" as "2 sperate sources connected to 2 transmitters" because he will now have 2 sets of receiver/transmitter.

I agree, if you have, say 1 blu-ray and 1 IQ box, connected to one transmitter but want to watch the blu ray on one TV and IQ on another TV with a seperate receiver, that cannot be done (and the pcauthority article says so too).

  • Is it somehow possible to connect all devices to the main station and then have two receivers linked to 2 different TV's?

I don't mind if I can't watch both at the same time, but it would be nice to have the flexibility to stream my Netflix/Hulu from my PS3 to whatever TV is in the least disruptive spot at that moment in my house.

I assume I can use this to have my PS3 and WDTV box together next to my router so I can use ethernet, them stream to the TV?

Last question, does it replicate the devices on screen perfectly, i.e. I can play games on PS3, browse menus just like if it was plugged in directly to the TV? Thank you.

  • +1

Don't need it but bought one anyway.

    Thx OP

    • This ha ha.

I missed it last time, don;t really need it, but want a new gizmo

  • Hi guys

Not too aware of these things and therefore have a basic question.

Can I use this to watch Fetch TV on another TV in the bedroom whilst the set top box is connected to the TV in the living room? Would the Fetch TV remote work with this and will I be able to see the day program list and all?

    Thanks

    • Yes, it should work but you'll need an active/Powered HDMI Splitter. Regarding remote you can download fetch tv remote app on iphone or any android phone.

  • Better hurry troops, now less then half remain!!!! They are going fast, get in quick.

  • Do they provide tax invoice?

  • Don't need one, got one. Damn it Ozbargain.

  • +1

might need it one day, got one. 98 left

  • Okay - grabbed one… Thanks OP.

  • thanks grabbed one. not sure where to put it and who would use it but well

  • -1

Just bought one. It can use my TV to play those video using my computer now, I supposed. Sad that my Smart Tv doesn't support DTS video. So this one will help me a lot.

  • 13 to go :)

  • Good deal. Cheers.
    Grabbed one, now sold out.

  • Few confusions:

We we want to move all the devices away, how to plug the Entertainment unit with it, as that unit has got speakers which needs to be put neat the TV.
For other devices, like xBox or DVD player and using them with the standard IR Remote, how will that work as well?

I dont know I will be using it, but bought one based on other members reviews.
    Standard price is: $115.
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Belkin-ScreenCast-AV-4-Wireless-D…

  • Sold out :)

  • I got one to send the second output of my AVR to a monitor next to my computer, but I cant get it to work. Haven't completely exhausted all options but looks like it's joining the Slingbox Solo and Vulkano Flow in the Useless Crap cupboard.

  • +1

It doesn't do what I want to achieve unless with a Powered HDMI Splitter. Not useful without. Can't do replication.

    Gave this a miss.

  • I bought a powered HDMI splitter off ebay for $26 so i can have Foxtel on 2 TV's.

    • Did that solution work for you? I've got an active HDMI splitter on the way at the moment.

  • it was selling out quick !!!
    so i bought it
no idea what am going to do with it

    thanks op

  • Damn it! The second time I've missed this one by a couple of hours! I wish I could get a push notification from OzBargain whenever this comes up! Can someone please develop an app for my iPhone to do that? :)

    • Yeah sure, I hear apple will publish stuff on their app store even if it's in alpha.

  • Wireless streaming? How stable is the picture?

  • Received it today. Happy with product and speed of delivery.
