  I have these, the problem with my pair is that both shoes can be extremely abrasive on the back of my heels, requiring me to wear a few strips of adhesive bandage under my socks if they are going to be worn for any extended time. This is a shame because they are a solid, extremely comfortable shoe; the insoles that come as standard are the best of any workboot I've owned.

    I had this with shoes before and always find it's the leather around the inside of the top of the "rim" hasn't been trimmed properly.
    It needs to be cut very close to the stitching and angled rather than square.
    Have a close look. I have always been able to fix it easily with sharp scissors…..
