Bankwest eSaver $45 Cashback with Buckscoop (No $10 Annual Fee as with MoneybackCo)

250

This is the same deal as MoneybackCo except it is with Buckscoop so you don't have to pay $10 annual fee for MoneybackCo. I saw the deal with MoneybackCo but $10 annual fee put me off and I wait for Buckscoop to get this deal :-) and today I saw it posted on Buckscoop.

For those who doesn't know, Buckscoop has similar cashback deals for most merchants as MoneybackCo but you don't have to pay $10 annual fee. The only difference is with some merchants, you get less cashback with Buckscoop but the difference is only about 0.2%-0.4%. So if you don't buy alot like me then that difference does not make up $10 per year.

So with all deals that have the same amount of cashback then I will definitely use Buckscoop to get the full amount of cashback.

The deal is the same, ie $45 from Bankwest. I think this is really more a comment that should go in the existing deal.

But rather than delist this I'll wait for other opinions.

    • Indeed it should be a comment to the current offer — which has already been made by OP on that thread.

I hate to say it but because of the relationship between MoneyBackCo and OzBargain, and the current circumstances with Steve @ MBC (who is currently doing MBC full time), I'll rather not seening a Buckscoop offer posted on OzBargain. At the same time from a consumer's point of view, I am happy to see Buckscoop matching the MBC's cashback rate — although I am not sure how much would that cut their bottom line.

I also think more competition on this space the better — although you do need to work in the way to keep all these cashback companies afloat. Before Buckscoop there was really only EmailCash (now RewardsCentral) who gives back only 20-30% of affiliation income (although I think they are still the biggest out there). When I reviewed Buckscoop back in December 2006, they are giving back around 50% across all the merchants. When MoneyBackCo came to the scene in Feb 2007, they are the only one in town giving back 100% affiliation revenue (but charges $10/year as their business model). Then over the last two years I have seen Buckscoop kept on increasing their cashback rate — some even matching MBC's (3% cashback from Apple or Dell for example).

Competition is good. At least if you are the consumer — although I am sure this will hurt MoneyBackCo (and Buckscoop as they now have one less product that they can profit from).

Let's see how this thread evolves. However I might take it down later today because (1) comment should be made on the other thread (2) in the name of protecting MBC, whom OzBargain has partnered with.

      Cheers,
      Scott / OzBargain

  • Can someone please explain to me how this Moneyback/Buckscoop deal works. Confused I have a telenet saver with Bankwest. Can I still get this deal?

    • Yes Raz

I have the telnet saver account too. I just called Bankwest, they did not indicate there would be any problems so have signed up (via MBC). Basically they are different accounts so no restrictions.

      Scotty,

Out of appreciation for the great job you have done with ozbargain and acknowledging your partnership with MoneyBackCo (which you did in a nice upfront manner here) i just signed up with and used the MBC website to get the Bankwest deal. So even though it is not as cheap as Buckscoop I signed up out of loyalty. Now this may be no big thing but i consider value conscious buying my religion :) In fact I think this choice (moneyback over Buckscoop) just cost me $10 … I am may have to excommunicate myself from my own religion LOL.

I am not convinced you need to take down this offer to favour the MBC offer. Your comment regarding the partnership may be sufficient for people to favour it.

      • @patientvalue — thank you for your comment.

And don't feel obligated because of my own feeling of helping out MBC :) OzBargain partnered with MBC back in 2007 because it was simply the best moneyback site back then with 100% cashback (+ annual fee and cash out fee). Buckscoop has however reduced the gap due to competition — which I guess is good for the consumers (which is what OzBargain's primary focus).

What I had tried to encourage MoneyBackCo before (and in some extend, Buckscoop) is to fight the big boys, i.e. RewardsCentral, whose cashback rate simply pathetic (1.00-1.20% cashback from DealsDirect for example). How, when they are multi-national big company with big marketing budget? Well. I don't know :) But telling your friends about MoneyBackCo (or Buckscoop) would be a good start.

  • good! +

  • buckscoop rles

  • Whose quicker in terms of getting the cashback?

  • The recent OzBargain Bankwest eSaver offer was what made me sign up to MBC… and to get the 50C off Dominos pizza orders.
Scotty, I agree with your logic, why link an offer to a direct competitor, when YOU already had it first? :D

I hope you're getting a few trackbacks from deals I mention on www.bargainconfidential.com as you're a quick, clean, fun and informative source. :) I'd be happy if any of my unique deals get onto OzBargain and OzBargainers can share the love here. :)

    Cheers,
    Bizi

  • when I compared the 2 sites, their cash back rates were the same i thought. anyways, I decided to use buckscoop because I was not being disadvantaged with the cash back and there were no annual fee and transaction fee.

  • maybe MBC can waive the 10 buck fee again.. for good this time..

  • Hi, I'm new to this. How do we get the $45 cash back?
