    Is this for robbing banks?

This would sell out in Western Sydney very quickly!

This is the second legionnaires' hat i've bought, not necessarily from them. I wear these hats for fishing and outdoor events. A friend sent me a link to buy one from ebay, but i found the website had the sale with the code. If you can find a better hat with a longer brim and longer flaps for a good price, post up and chances are i'll buy that one too.
Not a rep, hence box wasnt ticked.
Long time ozb shopper, first time submitting.

      • Check out Uveto hats and shades.

      • "This is the second legionnaires' hat i've bought, not necessarily from them."

WTF does that even mean - you did or didn't

        • Read the second last line of OP's comment: "Not a rep, hence box wasn't ticked."

      Take your racism elsewhere

      • +4

Well to be fair, Islam is a religion not a race. I'd say hes a bit paranoid about Muslims, sure, but the last 12 years of Islam in the Western media hasn't exactly been sunshine and strawberries so I get it.

        • -3

          Yep

Morons who don't even know what racism is shouldn't be calling other people racist…

5 comments in 2 years as a member and not a single deal submitted. Why am I not surprised??

      • +1

        What race was mentioned?

    • If I grow a beard would that be offensive too?

  • +2

I did a near triple take on it as a serious product or not - looks so like controversial religious wear or a balaclava that I would usually associate with crime and/or bad news in general, but looking at it it makes sense in a country as hot and UV prone as Australia. Probably a good idea, just need to think twice before entering shops and be careful about scaring little kids.

  • +5

Won't the chlorine still get in where your eyes are?

    • +2

I totally agree - this hat provides virtually zero protection against a serious Chlorine attack.

      • +2

Going by their design the majority of chlorine attacks nowadays must come from behind!!!

  • +6

looks as a contraceptive hat )))

    • +1

Generally I agree, but you will pull well in certain Sydney suburbs wearing this thing..

  • +24

Just be warned someone may think you are a postbox and shove an envelope in your eyes. I suggest not getting the red one ;-)

  • +1

This is just what I was looking for after a year with ozbargain and now broke.

  • -2

You certainly won't look out of place if you live in Granville / Auburn area.

    • -1

Particularly if you get the black one…

  • -2

Ah Ozbargain…. come for the bargains, stay for the racism!

    • +1

Exactly which race is being vilified?
      The Muslim RACE?
      Hint: Its a religion…

      • +2

Yep but calling someone a racist is a lot more effective at shutting them up…

Australia, where you cannot call a spade a spade…

        • -1

It makes the people crying racist look like the ridiculous party. And it really exposes the politically correct extremists out there who have no idea what they're even discussing!

        • We've almost proved Godwin's Law again.

Edit: and there it is… :-P

        • +1

Misusing the word "racist" because you don't know the correct English expression is not correct.
Let's use the correct English word for the situation:
          Try "bigot". http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/bigot

  • Wow, this thing screams "waterboard me".

  • I can see thieves starting to use these to rob shops.

If you intend to use it for blocking the sun to avoid being burnt, don't! We need natural sunlight to create Vitamin D3 (a hormone in reality) to have good health. The recent (9th Aug 2013) free eBook offer on "THE MIRACULOUS RESULTS OF EXTREMELY HIGH DOSES OF THE SUNSHINE HORMONE VITAMIN D3 MY EXPERIMENT WITH HUGE DOSES OF D3 FROM 25,000 to 50,000 to 100,000 IU A Day OVER A 1 YEAR PERIOD" (Jeff Bowles) explains in details WHY D3 is so crucial for stopping numerous diseases. Check it out & decide for yourself! He also has a just released a new eBook on Alzheimer's treatment: "ALZHEIMER'S TREATMENTS THAT ACTUALLY WORKED IN SMALL STUDIES! (BASED ON NEW, CUTTING-EDGE, CORRECT THEORY!) THAT WILL NEVER BE TESTED & YOU WILL NEVER HEAR ABOUT FROM YOUR MD OR BIG PHARMA ! [Kindle Edition]" US $2.99.

    • I don't think the plan is to LIVE in it. You're probably at greater risk of vitamin D defficiency spending long hours indoors at the computer or working in an office than using something such as this while doing an outdoor activity.

      WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU. I'M WEARING A TOWEL.

    • off-topic, but I am surprised to see that Australian site you referred to does not show GST, nor does it say excluding GST…
      http://www.lifehacker.com.au/2013/07/ask-lh-do-online-stores…

      • I think by law anything sold in Australia is supposed to include GST, so there's no need to mention it.

        • +1

          Incorrect.
Retailers/businesses which are not GST-registered cannot charge GST or quote it.
Providing they have a turnover of less than $75k, they have the option not to register for GST.

        • Incorrect.

Non-GST registered business CAN charge GST and can quote it.

They just keep it, rather than pass it onto the ATO.

        • Moot point, because the business IS GST registered

    • that is probably the most awesome hat i have ever seen ever. thanks for that zonbie.

and GST on mick's site is calculated at the checkout

  • Not sure if this is even a good deal (due to me surprisingly never being in the market for one of these), but give a positive vote for the OP's genuine utilitarian outlook on his headgear. Bravo!

  • +1

I was not allowed to wear mine in Paris recently….

    • +1

Yep those Frenchies are totally prejudiced against Sunsmart Ninjas…
      Les wanquers!
