10% OFF Code @ Gooddrop - Johnnie Walker King George V + Blue Label $449.99 Delivered

140
6000

I just purchased what I consider to be extremely well priced. A 750ml bottle of Johnnie Walker Blue Label King George V Scotch Whisky, and a Johnnie Walker Blue label 750ml. They are advertised on the site for $499.99 as a package deal. Using coupon code 6000 at the checkout I got a 10% ($50) discount and paid $449.99. Delivery is advertised free of charge on the site to most of Australia.

I know this wont be considered a "deal" to many, but considering Dans is selling the George V for $589.90 http://danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_917793/johnnie-walker-bl…

and the 700ml blue label Johnnie for $159.60 http://danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_93472/johnnie-walker-blu…

I am happy with the $300 saving compared to Dans prices and free delivery.

The 10% off code is not advertised on the site, but worked for every single product I gave it a test run with.

I also cannot see an expiry date for the free delivery or for the discount code on the site.

I think this deal is specifically cheap for this Whiskey.

you do know that 4k means 4000 right?

I think atitshah87 may be refering to this….http://www.gooddrop.com.au/the-john-walker.html

Which incidentaly he/she can have it home delivered for just $3599.99 minus the 10% discount of course!

The point isn't whether you can afford it, it's whether it's a good deal. Comparing Coronas to fine whisky isn't really fair…

    • +3

The OP is not suggesting Corona or Absolut Vodka is a bargain. OP is sharing the whiskey deal.

      • My exact thought.
The DEAL is the whiskey, not something that wasn't even mentioned… smh at atitshah87.

Thats fine, but I didnt buy or highlight any of the products you mention. I highlighted what I bought and think is a deal.

As for your comparison on Absolute Vodka- $55.95 delivered on Dans, compared with $53.99 (with discount) delivered on gooddrop.com.au Also if you were to purchase 6 bottles of Absolute on gooddrop, they would be $49.09 delivered for a total of $294.54. Dans 6 bottles delivered is $300.70

And these are dans delivery fees for Metropolitan Melbourne

Get your maths correct before you criticise.

      • Also you conventiently forgot to mention you compared Dan Murphys 700ml Absolute Vodka price with gooddrop's 1lt bottle price. The price comparison I did on the same Absolute Vodka was for the 1lt bottle at both stores.

      • aussie prices so expensive! i got a 1 litre at honolulu airport for 17 USD (in May when it was 1 USD to 1 AUD)
was even cheaper in local stores (like 12-15 bucks)

        CRAZY!

        wish i got more lol

        • a 1lt of what???? I picked up in May also @ Changi in Singapore 1 lt bottle of Johnnie Gold and 1 lt Grey Goose for about 90AUD for both. Hate the 2.25l maximum allowance into Australia!

        • Absolute Vodka

Ok… Bought two,,, one for me , one for dad…
My tax return is gone.. :)

  • this is actually cheaper than duty free! if u know whisky then u will know for sure it's a bargain… whisky and beer are totally different things… u cant compare them together though.

  • Obviously cheaper than usual price so it is a bargain in that sense. But at the same time, even at that price you could buy at least 3 (maybe even 4) single malts that would blow any Johnnie Walker out of the water for the same money.

To be clear I'm not negging the deal.. It obviously is a bargain for people that like Johnnie.

  • nice!

  • I just noticed that there selling the King George V, as a single bottle purchase for $579.99. Would anyone be stupid enough to click thru and purchase that when they are offering that bottle and a blue label for almost $200 less!!

  • is it a good drop?

    • Ive never had it. Based on my liking for the Blue Label, Im thinking this one will go down a treat. Ill have to make sure I wash it down with real Coke and not that cheap Aldi cola!

    • Assuming its something like johnnie Blue label or johnnie XR - If "smooth" and "sweet" are the best/only adjectives you use to describe what you consider good whisky then you will probably like it (but you'd probably equally like an easy-drinking malt like dalwhinnie). If you're used to whisky having character you'll probably find it pretty boring and unremarkable.

Just got a call from Gooddrop saying that they cannot accept the 10% discount code as you need to be a member of "something something"
I told them to cancel my order and refund my money.

      I'm thinking two things:

      1. Are the students really that bad in WA that teachers need cheap booze?
      2. What are they paying State School teachers in WA if they're buying combo packs of Johnnie KGV and Dom with Krug lol
