Just in case your moral compass is skewed towards doing the right thing, if you buy this it's against the EULA anyway. Adobe has recently changed their EULA so that you can't buy out of region copies and use it in another region. So in all seriousness, it's worth about as much as an illegal download.

If however, you feel good about 'doing the right thing' even if it's not 100% legit, then by all means, knock your credit card out. I doubt adobe will be kicking your door down with SWAT guys in your not exactly legal copy.

1- I didn't know that (a bad habit of not reading those eula at all). who ever wants to use it take note.
2- so if someone has adobe products and moves somewhere else (us<>au as an example) should they buy another license?!

    • Haha Adobe don't even go after people who pirate the $$$$ Creative Suite; they're definitely not coming after someone who pirates this $100 program.

Anyway the download version is excellent value for pretty much the go-to program for RAW processing.

    • Given that Australian law has taken the stance that consumers are allowed to bypass regional restrictions, I don't think it is the same as an illegal download. But either way, probably not really worth the hassle if the shipping is $30+.

      • Not sure when has it not been allowed? People have been using VPNs to bypass regional restrictions for a long while. Regardless, you're still breaking their EULA.

    • I am travelling regularly between Asia, Europe and Australia … does this mean I need to buy three licences.
What happens when you move from the US to Australia … then you are not allowed to use the software anymore? Makes no sense to me …

    • I thought we did the right thing to satisfy the law not the company.just because something is written in a contract doesn't automatically make it legal especially in an eula. In some places even, the courts found eulas to be dumb and unfair, like what happened in the eu, and wrote them off.

Any part of an eula that contradicts the laws of your country is invalid and unenforcable.like telling you where you can buy from and where you can use it.

      • That may be true.. however, you'd need to go to court to find out..

  • Where do you enter the code?

  • Of course, if you are a teacher or student, you can get it for $99 AU anyway…. And if you are a teacher in the Education DEpartment (in WA at least), you can get CS6 Suite for $49.95…. now THAT'S a bargain!

  • Why would you bother with geting the boxed version? AFAIK you just get a disk in a box and a couple of sheets of paper.
