Snap Fitness Sandgate Brisbane - $99 for 1 Year Membership, Nil Joining Fee

117

Just went into Snap Fitness Sandgate and they are currently offering $99 for 1 year membership including membership card, backpack and towel. The best thing is that I can go to any snap gym but only snap sandgate is offering the $99 year long membership

See pla74's comment:

I just talked to Sandra the club manager at the gym as she said its not $99 for 1 year membership, the joining fee is normally $99. 1 year membership is $494. The special this month is half price joining free.

Sounds like an awesome deal. Wish there were deals like these in Perth. Even with a $99 joining fee, it would be well worth it.

  • WOW, who did you speak to their coz I want to go and join up as well!

  • If I join this can I go to any other snap?!

Correct. The joining fee is $49.50, plus the access card fee is $49 (non-refundable) - so there is no discount here. You also need to pay the first two weeks in advance if paying weekly. Info as per Club Manager, Sandra.

    • Thanks. As this is not a bargain and the title is misleading, its a rare neg from me.

Hi When I went in I signed up with a gentleman called Adam. I signed up for the year for $99. No extra fee for access cards or joining fees ect. Adam told me that I can access any snap gym with the card and didn't have to pay anything else. So my membership expires on 1 September 2014. Thought that this was a great deal as I know how much gyms normally charge. So I would suggest to get Adam to call you back. I can't remember is last name but it is something like packing!!

    • ok cool will do!

do you have his contact number? as i live on the other side of brisbane (southside) so its a long way away…just want to talk to him on the phone so i can be sure

Hey Sarah, Could it be that the "Gentleman" Adam was so charmed by your good self and wanted to be so kind and gentle to you that he offered you a 99$ one year membership.

While the other brethren are not so fortunate.

Thanks for sharing anyway, if this works it's a great deal and deserves atleast 99 +

    • Adam told me that I can access any snap gym with the card and didn't have to pay anything else

I doubt it, but if it's true it's a great deal

I don't mean to be rude, but this sounds too good to be true. Have you checked your signed contract to make sure that this is correct?

Has anyone got on to Adam to confirm this deal?

    • -1

Clearly Sarah has already done that and she ended up with this great deal.

  • What's the range of equipment like though? Anyone been? That's the real arbiter of the value here; I mean $99 a year for some cramped, hole-in-the-wall joint with 1970's-era, rusted free weights and ancient machines that have all the padding ripped off isn't really worth it imo. Especially if it's over-crowded.

    • Snap in my experiance have fairly new equipment. The range of equipment varies from club to club. I have found that the smaller ones are the ones that do better deals, but don't have much of a range or have vital equipment like free weights. The larger clubs have a better range including extensive free weight setups, but they charge a higher fee due to the increase in floorspace and insurence etc.

The benifit of SNAP of course is that you can join at the former and train at the later :)

Snap gyms, in general are pretty good in equipment and space. I'd jump on this like rabid dog if this deal was real, sadly I think there are going to be a lot of disappointed people here.

Wile we are discussing gyms, anyone interested should checkout this page for some gems of wisdom on gym membership from the annals of bargainland.

  • Has anyone spoken to Adam?

Something unusual about Sarah2000 and Sophie1555 both first time posters and brand new accounts. This has not been confirmed by someone with a trusted reputation.

    • Nice pick up. One internet to you my good man.

So what is stopping you from signing up for this over the phone and using the membership interstate?

EDIT: Just read pla74's comment and realised this deal is BS.

  • Hey Sarah, if you actually got this deal, can you provide us with a copy of the tax invoice/contract? Thanks

  • I'm not sure what's going on with this deal. For some reason Sarah opened a ghost account to post a comment here stating the deal is legit.

I'm going to mark this expired as there are too many oddities to this story.

    • ok sounds good! and thanks!

  • Definitely sounds too good to be true. Foundation members wouldn't even get it this cheap.

    • Sounds and is too good to be true.
