Normal ticket $77. Seems like a lot for a boat ride.

Why would you bother with all that trouble and expense to watch a fish swimming through binoculars?
I've seen quite a few, and they just cruise along here, not jumping out of the water like in the website photos.

Better to go on a river cruise and look for dolphins. Or for slightly more money go scuba diving, and really see something.

I went on this once and the swell/waves we encountered were so bad that the entire boat was throwing their breakfast up apart from me. At certain points it looked like the boat was coming perpendicularly level with the water.
I thought it was thrilling; everyone else was getting ready to put the life vests on.

We saw maybe 2 whales tops; at a distance of over 100 metres.

The weather got really bad, really fast; from a sunny morning to a drenched and windy early afternoon.

It actually turned out to be a hilarious trip (for me anyway), I was just watching all these queasy, nauseous faces on the boat, huddled together, desperately waiting for the tour to be over. My girlfriend at the time and her sister filled up an entire plastic shopping bag with puke. Their misery was delightfully amusing to me, in a twisted kind of way. I knew it was a good idea to skip breakfast that day.

I watch the same on my daily train commute.

  • Do you think it's right that company's can call their Tours "Whale Watching"? there's no guarantee whatsoever that your gonna see a Whale, so i think they should be re-naming there Tours to "Might see a Whale Watching Tour"

    Just a thought.

What are your thoughts on Apple products? You must be disappointed regularly.

    • It's a fair comment - I went on one such excursion from Hilarys Boat Harbour years ago and didn't see a single whale. We charged all over the ocean around Rottnest in pursuit of "One was here 20 minutes ago" reports on the marine radio, but to no avail. The captain anchored in the lee of the island for a champagne buffet lunch, but once the boat was moored, rising and falling in the swell, most of the tourists either lost their appetites or started spewing over the side! So at least the lunch was a highlight. The whales, not so much.
