  • It says "prevents device from sleeping". What's that mean? Only during the period of exercise surely?

    • It says "prevents device from sleeping"

When your phone turns it's screen off, it goes into a 'sleep' state which conserves power by suspending (pausing) all open applications. If the phone doesn't sleep, the app(s) will continue running and draining battery power.

By preventing the sleep state, the application is allowed to run actively in the background and continue doing what it's doing without being halted by the OS.

    • I'm guessing this means it may keep the battery from going to sleep whenever you have the app running.

Be that in the foreground while you use it, or in the background after you switched to another app.

    • From my experience, it refers to being able to choose your workout, whether it be 10min or 30min+ and not have to touch it again while it goes through all the instructions… you don't have to wake your phone/tablet up to see what the next instruction is.
It's basically like having a personal trainer, only without the intense motivational screams in the ear during the final few seconds.. instead, you get a comforting count down. *8vD

  • Why are these apps so intrusive? I get to the "permissions" stage … WTF?

    • For a luddite-friendly explanation try
      http://lifehacker.com/5991099/why-does-this-android-app-need…

There are only a few permissions for this app, none of which look particularly suspicious. Most apps need internet connections to sync online and also to display ads, and certainly most will require access to storage so they can write data to either your SD card or system cache folder.

        Thanks for that. Always learning.

  • Where to put the promo code?

Go to the app, click on top left logo
      Select "Enter promotion code"
      Enter the code

      Enjoy!

    • It's alraming how many of these apps require access to your data. Practically every one of them has some clause. Real turn off.

    • +1

I've been using this on my Phone and Tablet for a while now… and so far I haven't noticed any strange withdrawals from my bank.
All the Access for this app is related to the app functionality. I totally endorse this as a cheap efficient alternative to a $300 Personal Trainer! *8vD

  • looks pretty cool. just what i was sort of looking for. well i wasn't really but i can't turn down something that's free that i'm remotely interested in.

    • Check out the "similar" apps at the bottom of the page then. Workout Trainer and HIT interval training trainer both look good, and free.

      • Not as 'pretty' in my opinion. And I found that this App appears to cover literally everything that they do, plus some.
See for yourself, I spent some time with friends a few months ago going through as many Free ones as we could find, and this was unanimously agreed as being the Best of them (albeit, not exactly free… but they've run this promo previously, which got us into looking at Android workout programs.)

  • says invalid code…

    • Code worked just now.

    • Check the code carefully - OP has spelled it differently in the body of the post vs the promo code field.

I suspect it's meant to be appgratis in both locations.

      • My bad! Thanks!

  • Definitely one of the Best workout apps that I've ever come across. Love it!
Would love to see the integration of the 7min workout that everyone raves about… just to prove that this App is Numero Uno for all the Lunchbreak workout ranges you desire! *8vD

  • appgratis still works. Just downloaded from Google play and entered promo code.
