Seems reasonable for price and ships free to Melbourne (unsure on other localities), I have the 50inch Changhang and for $499 have been very happy with it quality and performance.

Staticice has closest price $995 http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=LED55C2000&…
PNC Tech has it for $892 unsure on shipping costs http://pcntech.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&produ…

    Jeez you're paying a lot for the extra 5"- $498 to $788

      that's what she said

    • I personally think the 50" was a better deal, but this seems decent for size and compared to other vendors.

  • Good price for a 55"… 3 yr warranty also…. but 55" @ 50hz…????

I never really understood why 50/60hz is a problem. I've been watching 3D @ 50/60hz which everyone seem to complain about and I don't see whats the fuss. Can someone explain?

100Hz tv's allow people to preform better in bed, what I've been told.

before i left school at the end of year 12 the school i went to had just gotten some Changhong TV's in to replace the outdated projectors, within a week after the school got them the audio had become really terrible

    • ….I remember this being said before……was that you aswell?

  • Is it better than the Soniq 55" Passive 3D Smart TV you can get from JB Hifi?

    • Technically, ANYTHING is better than a Soniq. Even a Changhong.

I bought the 50" one for $498 and am quite disappointed with the quality of the remote control/IR receiver.
It is very unresponsive, every time you want to change the channel, or do anything with the remote you need to press the button multiple times for it to register. I read that it is a known problem with Changhong TV's.
Just a warning that it is a very frustrating problem for a TV to have…

      • Admittedly the control probably needs to be pointed more accurately at the my 50" Changhong then other TVs, but I haven't really had any unresponsiveness besides not aiming properly.

    • Not sure these really compared in most people's minds, 40" vs 55"

    • Stay away from Penta, ordered an Acer W700 with them, 2months later still didn't get the thing, and they didn't wanna refund me the $1000 I paid.

    • Don't go near Penta! I had a very bad experience with trying to buy a printer they told me they had in stock…..

  • I have a Changhong TV. 50" Plasma, picked up for $399 from HN a few years ago. Still works fine, no issues whatsoever. It'a one of the largest brands in China apparently.
