Any PS4 Bundles out in Australia?

As title says. And i've heard that the PS4 is going to be out of stock till January, is it worth it to preorder now just for console and maybe 1 game?

  • And i've heard that the PS4 is going to be out of stock till January

I've read February on forums but I can't seem to find the source of this rumor. Can anyone provide a link?

Nobody knows for certain yet. EU and the US are getting their second shipment for Christmas so its hopeful (though perhaps unlikely) that it will be the same for us.

  • EBGames and JB are out till early 2014, but Dick Smith and some Targets are still taking pre-orders for launch day. Doubt there will be bundles since there's already enough demand for the PS4 itself.

    • Killzone bundle in Europe
EU preorders have also been making a killing

    • I pre-ordered at Dick Smith on the 17th and was told that launch day pre-orders cut off on the 16th and that I'd get mine in the second wave which should be there by Christmas.

That makes sense. I pre-ordered mine on the 16th so maybe that makes the cut, unlike EBGames which allocated their launch consoles months ago. Amusingly, they were the first place I asked and the EB clerk suggested I might reconsider an Xbone instead, which is still launch day guaranteed.

Looks like the PS4's off to a much better start than the PS3. I remember seeing photos of the George St midnight launch. They had barricades set up and news crews, expecting crowds and…30 people showed up and quietly bought their consoles. Of course, it costed $1000 but ouch.

        • That sounds hilarious. Got a link to a news article? I know it failed at release due to the high price and someone even hired barricades?

        • It was from 2006, Kotaku and a bunch of mainstream news outlets expected there to be crowds like the PS2 launch at Myer Sydney and virtually no-one showed.

it's official, they said Australia will have the bundle as well, waiting for the price though.

  • Hmm.. What are the chances of getting one on launch day at Kmart?

    • Low.

    • Impossible.
      Kmart isn't selling it.

      Xbone only at Kmart.

      • Wow that strikes me as pretty poor judgement. Maybe MS paid them huge piles of cash?

        • They didn't stock the Vita either.
Sony consoles make bugger all profit.
I wouldn't call it poor judgement.
Actually, if Kmart scraped all named brands and the majority of the games it sold it would generate larger average profits and would see a larger profit % of total sales vs its currents state. The company doesn't make a lot of money on consoles or games no matter what the brand is.

Good judgement would be to scrap all of them. Heck, scrap photos as well, those make next to nothing in profit.

        • This defeats the purpose of a department store though. If they don't stock what you want, you don't go there are they lose business.

Indeed, loss leaders are a big part of retail

Yet they would sell the Wii U…..

My guess is MS doesn't care as at launch they aren't going to be losing sales too the Wii U.

  • Just adding this for people still watching this thread… Dick Smith are the only company in Aus offering the Killzone bundle at the moment… you can preorder now to get it before Xmas day:

  • I noticed a sign in Kmart tonight saying they will have the PS4 for $529 (console and controller, no games from the looks of it).
