  • $1,299 or higher everywhere else. Very hard to get a solid brand with a full SSD anywhere near this at the moment. I say bargain.

  • Great unit with the Dual screen function for touch and ultrabook forms :D

  • Ivy bridge I assume.
Only 4GB RAM too, any idea if it's easy to chuck more in?

great deal and it's a nice little unit. I was this close to getting it when it first came out, but two things worked against me:

    1) Battery life is less than your typical ultrabook (apparently 3 hours, less if you're constantly on the touch screen and/or using both). The 4th gen haswell chips give at least 7. Sony's Vaio Pro 13 (Which is also super light) had 8 1/2 on a full charge when I played around with it for a while.

    2) The internal screen isn't touch. That drove me nuts lol.

So if these two don't bother you so much, definitely go for it as this is a fantastic price.

  • this is the small taichi.. there's the 13.3" version also.

  • Build quality is excellent. The packaging feels so premium when you open it. Great deal.

  • for a "notebook" over $1k at this moment, i would expect the fourth generation i5/i7.

  • $1069.00 Gigabyte Q2556N (9WQ2556N2-AU-A-001) i7-4700MQ/8GB/1TB 2YR warranty
$136.00 Plextor M5M PX-128M5M 128GB mSATA III Solid State Drive (SSD)

From MSY of course….. i say 'no deal' to the above in my opinion…..

      Not 1080P.
      Not Tablet convertible.
      Not 11.6" size.

    • This is like saying you don't like the Lotus Elise because it can't haul as much as your Mack truck.

If you guys are concerned about the battery life and only having one touch screen, I would save yourself $25.50 and buy three of the Asus TF810C at DickSmith - ($349.50 each this weekend)
You'll end up with three touch screens, and 57 hours battery life ; )
Yes I know its an ATOM processor, but you get three of them too!

    • Don't bother the dickSmith one is sold out already, I guess a few people had the same idea….
