Nexus 10: better screen resolution, better RAM

    • +9

The Nexus 10 is a higher res device (2560x1600 vs 2048x1536) with a better aspect ratio (16:10 vs the goofy 16:12). Couple that with a potential personal preference for Android (which the market is clearly showing) and it's pretty obvious how it can compete.

LOL first time i have ever seen it written as 16:12. It's generally 4:3, but yeah all your points i concur with.
Not to mention the mali t604 is OpenGL ES3.0 certified, so its sure to support next level graphics rendering that the iPad chipset does NOT support.

        • Yeah, 4:3. The same ratio as the good old CRT TVs! Awesome!…

I have both ipad4 and a Nexus 10. I love both but I really enjoy surfing on the iPad screen ratio ( reading text, emails ext). And watching movies/video on the Nexus 10 which fill the screen better is nicer. The back lighting / colour is better on the iPad too, so if I wasn't a big video watcher I would go iPad still.

+1 vote for rational comparison including your usage scenarios, while avoiding hyperbole and emotional knee jerking.

Why do some people always include "Retina" when mentioning Apple products with such displays? All it means is that the display is above a certain pixel density. It seems to be a marketing ploy to make people believe it is a unique feature of Apple products and people are falling for it.

The Nexus 10 has a pixel density of 300ppi whereas the iPad 4 only has a 264ppi display (I believe).

Yea, but the ios7 update makes it waterproof </sarc>:D

It's a good deal (saving ~$100), depending on shipping times and warranty. Mine arrived in 4 business days from Google.

Where would you take it for warranty?

  • I want one of these, but I don't want to buy it from ebay.

    What's the next best deal?
