Book on Expedia or Hotel?

I want to book some 4 hotel rooms in the US at the end of the year (Eventi Hotel, Hotel Marlowe and The James Chicago). I have already booked Eventi using Expedia since it was way cheaper. For the remaining two hotels, the prices between Expedia and the actual hotel site aren't all that different so I was wondering if I should book them through Expedia or through the hotel website.

Perhaps there are coupons for Expedia as well? (Also AMEX10 doesn't work anymore since I used it on Eventi already)

I would try checking on https://www.room77.com/, which compares a bunch.

I use tripadvisor and hotelscombined as they both search across multiple websites.

Then I go to the cheapest few websites and see if discount codes work.

AMEX10 for expedia right now. I've also used AUPAY10 for hotels.com on about 10 bookings in the last one week. There's a hotelclub 15% off voucher floating around OZB right now as well.

If the hotel is cheaper, use Expedia to pricematch plus they will give you $50 future voucher: http://www.expedia.com.au/p/price-match
