How can I play GTA 5 the cheapest way?

  Neither. Wait for the PC version and the inevitable steam sales and third party key sites. Plus it will look vastly better at 1080p, not upscaled, and will support mods (likely).

    PC Version doesn't have a release date or even confirmed that it will ever exist.

      The "leaked" (possibly fake) release date is the end of next year.
      IMO it's not worth waiting that long at all.
      Edit: Also PC is so much more expensive than console.

  Any PS3 will do, the main limitation of the 12G PS3 is that you will have to uninstall games and only have a couple installed at a time. PS3 has the big advantage of not having to pay for online games, so I recommend that over 360.

    I own both and while I pay $50 a year for Gold I find it a better experience. For example, every time I play on PS3 no one talks.. ever. On 360 people generally chat while playing. As a talker I prefer this.

        I remember the immature idiots when playing the 360 online, however I agree it was pretty fun at times. On the PS3 most of my interactions was PS HOME….

  I bought a $148 Xbox 360, a $12 USB drive, and the game. $230 or so all up.

  The cheapest way would be find it on display at a store. Go in every day and play it until you're finished.

  You can play games for free from EB Games, though most people don't agree with doing it on purpose.
  They have a 7 day trial period so you can go back to the store 7 days after you bought it (or earlier) and get a full cash refund.
  You can go ahead and do it more than once too.

  Cheapest price for the game locally is $79 at Kmart, and EB Games can price match. (notably Dungeon Crawl have import copies for $69.90 and Big W have it the 2nd cheapest at $88.)

  In answer to the first post and not just the title of it, yes the 12gb model will do just fine. (There's an 8gb install.)

  Xbox may be cheaper but I can't recommend getting a 360 over a PS3.
  And the game runs better on PS3 anyway. (not a huge difference but there is a difference.)

  i read an article saying that the 360 version runs 1-3fps faster than the ps3 version, but the ps3 has more details while 360 seems to be a bit blurry at times.
  i would rather have more detailed texture, 1-3fps slower does not affect the experience at all :)
