Hi Zahra, That is not true. You ordered a total of 15 of the $1.00 frame deals. This deal was limited tot a maximum of 1 pair. You were refunded for 14 pairs and were sent 1 of the pairs that you ordered.

      • lol

        I'm not Zahra ! and I didn't order 15 of the $1.00 frame ! Please Reply…

        • We have not had any other emails other than happy ones regarding the $1 Sale. Please email us at [email protected] and I will have a look into it now.

        • Received this following e-mail on last special offer. I think most of us received this. I am not going to waste my time of ordering again.

"Thank you for placing your order at eyeadore.com.au. Due to some technical issues coinciding with the launch of our new web site, we are unfortunately unable to fulfil your order.

We sincerely apologise for this inconvenience. Our team has already processed your refund."

        • Hi Ricky,
We unfortunately had to send that email to 4 people from the last sale due to stock reasons. We had a huge number of people visit the website at the same time after the sale was listed here on ozbargain.
If you would like to, you can send us a private email and I will see if I can link you to a few frames that I can do at the last sale price.
          Our email is [email protected]
Apologies once again that you were one of the ones who missed out.
          Warm Regards,
          Kathleen

        • Hi ccwwayne, we are still awaiting an email from you. We will be online for the next 15 minutes and then will be offline until tomorrow morning at 9.00am.

      • Hi,

If it was limited to maximum one pair why I was able to choose more and place the order for as many as I want? You should change your ordering system I guess…and at least reply to your customers emails.
it is funny that I send them email and NO REPLY … and now I see that they reply here by mistake! :)
anyway I am not happy with their service…
the one they sent me was not the one I prefer if I had to choose only one…

  • Not a good start OP.
Coupon code "35LENSOZ" is not valid.

    • Hi Bellyup, I'll look at that now.

    • Hi Bellyup, it should be corrected within the next few minutes. Apologies.

      • Hi Bellyup, we have updated the website so the 35% off shows up automatically. No need to enter a code now to get the discount :)

  • Hi Lexizara.

I purchased some glasses from you last month, with your 35% off. I ordered the 'ultimate thin and light' lens upgrade, which is usually $170 - but when the glasses arrived, they didn't look any thinner than standard. Can you comment on what the difference is? (My prescription is about -1 in each eye, nothing major)

It's also worth mentioning that I was not sent a receipt, either with the glasses or electronically. Admittedly, the order wasn't done through the website (as I wanted to take advantage of my health insurance rebate, which online purchases aren't eligible for). [That's also why I tried the lens upgrade, as even with the upgrade I would get the whole amount refunded, eventually]

    • I'm not an optometrist, so can't comment authoritatively - but just based on my experience as a spectacle-wearer, I'd reckon at -1.00 you'd be hard-pressed to tell any difference in the thickness of the lenses. Ultra high-index lenses are usually only recommended for prescription levels of say -5.00 I think.

Having said that, I'm surprised that they didn't contact you to check that you actually wanted to go ahead with the 'ultimate' lens upgrade.

Hopefully the OP, or even better an optometrist, can provide some input to your question.

      • Hi Ah,
Thanks for your message. My prescription is a 1.25 in one eye and 1.50 with a slight astigmatism in the other eye. Although I could easily order a standard lens with this prescription I always go for the ultimate thin & light lenses in my clear pair and the Extra Thin & Light in my sunglasses (although not as thin you can get a much better tint with the T&L material). I definitely notice the difference between the standard and the ultimate lenses. Firstly the lenses have a more even thickness right across the lens and they are slightly lighter. I have some sinus issues so I am quite sensitive to the weight.
        Hope this helps :)
        Kathleen

        • Kathleen, does the thickness of the lens affect the intensity of the darkening, if you order photochromatic lenses? I didn't realise the T&L had different properties, apart from being physically thinner.

Maybe we need to start a wiki somewhere with this sort of information…

        • Hi Nick, the lens material makes a huge difference with the normal sunglasses tint. My sunglasses are RayBan wayfarers and I wanted the tint to match the original colour exactly. You wouldn't know they are prescription glasses by looking at them.

With the thinner lens material you can't get the depth of the colour in the lens. No matter how long it is kept in the solution it stays very light and quite honestly is pretty useless.

I am sad to say that I don't know what wiki is! Although I try my best I was unfortunately not cut out for computers! If you think this is something important to add though, send through an email with instructions and I'll give it a go. Kath

        • While I only have myself to blame, the above shows one of the risks of online ordering. You think you know what you want, but there's no vetting of your choice before you buy.

Had I known that 1) with a low prescription, the thinner lenses aren't really noticably thinner, and/or 2) that the other lens treatments would actually be inferior with the thinner lenses, I could have saved significant money and had a better result (ie: glasses that darkened more under UV).

I realise that it's my responsibility to research before buying, but worth sharing my experience here too, in case it helps others.

        • Hi Nicois, I just looked up your order to see the details. You ordered transitions lenses not a standard sunglasses tint (which I was talking about in my last message). Transitions lenses are not affected by the thin material. Transitions are a type of lens and not a coating applied to a lens. They will be no darker or lighter than if ordered in other indexes. Kathleen :)

        • Oh, I feel a bit better now :-)

I haven't used transitions before, so didn't really know how strong an effect to expect. It certainly darkens somewhat, but I will be keeping them for backups or all-rounders, using my sunnies most of the time.

Thanks for all the work following up on here.

        • No problem :) As a little tip to help your transitions to activate quicker, leave them outside (somewhere safe)for an hour or so they can activate. With transitions they need to activate a few times before they reach their full intensity. You will find that if you do this about 3 times before wearing them you will have a nice dark activation when you actually do wear them. Enjoy your new glasses. Kathleen :)

    • Hi Nicois,

I emailed you today to let you know that we were sending you out your receipt and I also asked how your glasses were going….

The difference between the lenses are that the standard is a 1.5 index, Extra Thin & Light are a 1.6 index, Super Thin & Light are a 1.67 and the Utimate Thin & Light are a 1.74 Index Lens.

Was your frame a full metal frame or a Nylon Frame? If it was a metal frame the lenses would be extremely thin in the ultimate material, if it was a nylon frame the lenses will be ground slightly thicker on the edges than they would in a metal frame so that they do not chip but they should be extremely flat.

As I mentioned in your email today your lenses have a three month warranty on them so if you have any concerns about the thickness of them feel free to send them back to us and I will get them assessed at the lab.

If I can help you out with anything else just ask or feel free to give us a call at the store.

      Regards,
      Kathleen

  • Very tempted to order a pair, as I am due for a new pair of glasses… but am a bit hesitant about ordering online without being able to try them on first. The last time I ordered a pair of glasses online (a couple of years ago now), I never ended up wearing them, as I found the frames just a bit too wide for my face.

    • Hi Again Ah,
It's really important to know the size of the frame that suits your face before ordering online. Do you have a pair of glasses that fit you well that you can measure or that still have the frame size printed on them?
If not I suggest going into an optometrist, try on a few frames to see not just the size that fits you but also the style that suits you and then venture online.
Even just a couple of millimetres can make a huge difference to how they feel so don't risk buying before you know what you need.
      Good Luck,
      Kathleen :)

  • I ordered from their last sale and can attest to their quality. For the price they are fantastic and represents huge savings over other stores.

    • Thank you Orin :) It's so nice to get a positive message. I am glad that you are happy with your purchase. Kathleen :)

  • Does this include sunglasses? The OP says all frames but there are a bunch of sunglasses over $80.

    • Hi Heal, no it doesn't include the sunnies. If there is a pair you like though let me know and I'll see if I can organise a discount on them. Thanks :)
