  • no custom rom for this one, hard to root.
probably because of the processor (mediatek)

wow better deal than the previous DSE one
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/117711

    • Though, I don't expect Centrecom to have the same stock levels as DS

  • shipping $12.45 to sydney

    • still better than DSE deal though

  • hmmm very good deal

  • +2

Bought one - couldn't say no this time.

  • on whirlpool someone just bought his 4 weeks ago for $149 (yes after $29 cashback too)

    • +1

Just & 4 weeks… your statment is not even consistent

  • +1

Try using it after 3 months and you'll know why the price drops so quickly.

whats wrong with it? i have it and its fine.

      • Screen resolution, bulky design and camera (pretty much useless) kill it. I stopped using it in two months and sold it one month later.

  • Damn can I resist?

    • All orders subject to stock availability.
  • 3G or wifi? Can't seem to see it. Also how's it compared to ipad 2?

    • just wifi. compare with ipad? this one cheaper

  • FML, bought mine from the last deal. There goes $40 down the drain.

    • succeeded in rooting?

      • Nope, I tried the xda thread and got stuck on step 2 (or somewhere around there).

  • Anyone have experience dealing with centrecom? If they run out of tablets, will i get my money back promptly or will there be a hassle to get it back?

    • just pay via Paypal.

  • I meant just for Internet usage is it smooth as ipad 2? I have ipad 2 and wanted a ipad mini, but if this is comparable might be the way to go. Also isnt there a 3G version of this?

    • The answer is no comparison.

  • This is cheap, still wouldn't want one. :-P

  • Great find. Good thing I didn't buy it at DSE last week. The screen is IPS but fairly dim with not-very-good viewing angles, but definitely better than the 7" B1's screen, and it's a killer deal at ~$80 shipped, after cashback.

    out of stock :(

    Edit : 165 dollars now

    • Not a valid reason for negging. If you missed out it's just bad luck.

  • It's $136 now after cashback?

  • Am I missing something? Says $136 for me

    Geez that was quick, sigh

  • what? pricing error?

  • -8

    i missed this deal

  • You snooze you lose.

    • +3

I find this funny because I was actually sleeping ;)

      • -5

I've negged you for that. I hope you understand :P

        • -6

You nutters just have no sense of humour…

  • Price just changed?

  • -3

Prob error, shouldn't go up price, if out stock would mention.

      you cook you lose

      • -1

        you eat…..ya beat!

  • The rrp has also increased to $249, I think it was $199 before

  • Intel Bay Trail really on the way.

  • WTF… no camera specification even on offical website.

    • 5mp but no auto focus.

  • Order status is now "picking"

Edit: now it has been shipped

    Thanks again OP

  • Again the poster copied the false product specifications. Thsi was insanely good price for this tablet.

It has SD card reader, HDMI, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, good WiFi and good support from Acer, unlike the chinese tablets with Android.

    • Maybe that was the information provided by Centrecom

Build quality is shit, I bought one in the dse sale. Barely used it just left it on the table. And the back casing already cracked.

    • +1

For $70 what do you expected? Already better than a lot chinese tablet.

      • it wasn't $70 before. For $70, it is a bargain. No doubt.

  • Received mine today. Great work Centrecom.

Got mine yesterday. As a past owner of a rooted Telstra T-Touch Tab, a rooted Nook Color, 2012 Nexus 7 and 7" Iconia B1, I would say this is, for me, the nicest one to use so far, although not as slick as the N7. The extra screen size is really useful, as I use it mostly for reading/browsing.

I don't have any complaints about the build quality yet — seems nicely put together. I've ordered a TPU back cover and screen protector for the inevitable drop tests and other mishandling. In terms of size, of course it's derivative of the iPad Mini, but a little bit wider, clearly thicker and noticeably heavier. Still, none of that is a deal breaker. It's just nice, and for the money, very nice.
