  • Still relatively new to the Android environment but I'm guessing the advantages this has over the recent Acer Iconia A1 deal is that it has a better screen, supports 4.3 and possibly better camera ? Cons, relative to the Iconia, would be no microSD and HDMI output.

Oh and yes, refurb vs new.

    • It doesnt have a back camera. Only a 1.2 MP front camera.
If you want a spec to spec comparison go here : http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=4850&idPhone2=…

If you dont mind the resolution, i would recommend a brand new iconia over a refurbished nexus7

      • That site is brilliant ! Thanks highdealer, I'll go there to compare tablets from now onwards.

    • I personally think the 7 inch screen is too small for me and happily took a cut in screen resolution for a larger 8 inch screen.

      • I own a samsung 7" and a lenovo 10", both Android.

And I find I reach out to the 7" more than the 10", mainly cos of
        the size convenience.

  • Does the 3G support telstras Next G network?

    • If you mean 850MHz then yes.

    • +1

what is the best deal around?

    • Really? where else can I get a refurbed Nexus 7 at these prices?

      • motor89, Please reference a link to the deal of better price to justify what you said.

    • Can you please provide a link or details? I'm keen to buy but if there is a better deal…

    • +1

Was about to buy this but luckily I saw your comment. Can you please post a link to the better deal?

    • really? Please post your better deal of a refurb tab.

  • Just confirming that this is the latest model, 2nd generation, with the back camera? at this price, it's pretty hard to believe :O

    • +1

This is 1st generation. 2012 gen.

Dont think they would be any refurbished unit for 2nd gen. Lol

      • oh right, because 2nd gen would mean 2013 launch.. Somehow I thought that the latest one was 2012 and the earlier one was 2010 or something :/ Thanks!

  • This? or Ipad mini $305

    • if you live in an apple ecosystem, get the mini. But if you're not dependent on itunes/etc, get this one. Better screen, better ppi, processor, so on so forth.

    • This. And buy a nice android phone with the money left over.

    • +1

If you must have a tablet today or this weekend, either one is fine. I am a bit unsure about the quality of refurbished. Between the two, Nexus 7 is better in terms of cost (the most you are going to lose out is $129 or if you want the 32GB/3G - $199).

It is probably best to wait. $129 is pretty much the feeBay price for 16GB Nexus 7. iPad Mini 2 is coming out soon. I do wonder what will be the feeBay price for iPad Mini 1 in 2 weeks time.

    • You should ask, 2013 nexus 7 or ipad mini :P

      • +3

The fact that people (above) still recommends 2012 Nexus 7 over iPad mini shows that if vash12 were to ask 2013 Nexus or ipad Mini it's a no brainer.

        • iPad mini :P

        • Honestly, I would recommend neither. But, if you have to get one, then get the cheapest of two.

Nexus 7 2012 at a bargain price is a better buy than iPad Mini 1 at a good price. However, for people who own Nexus 7 2012 for a year (i.e. me), the value of the tablet is low enough that I don't even think it is worth selling (was thinking about selling it, but all these firesale….)

  • i bought one and pick up this morning, so far it works fine, tried a few games, its smaller than i thought, but still happy with it, just enough for one hand to hold. i was prefer 305 for a mini. but 129 i cant resist….mini2 is worth to buy but may hav to wait untill next year, heard mini2 come after ipad5, so they wont effect ipad5 sales

    • Nope they will be released on the same day.

    • Most likely iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 will be announced together. With Nexus 7 2013 already out, you would expect iPad Mini 2 to be announced soon. Some people are saying there will not be enough iPad Mini 2's to meet the demand initially. Whether that's some sort of marketing trick or not, I dunno.

Apple will use A6X CPU in iPad Mini and use A7X in iPad 5.

  • Can anyone comment on the refurb quality of this site?

    • I got the 3g version a few months ago and couldn't spot any flaws physically and I'm yet to have a problem with the hardware either.

It's a great little tablet as well, especially @ $129 for the WiFi only one. I'm actually grabbing one tonight as a present for my mother.

  • 16GB is out of stock

    • Looks like I got in just in time :-)

  • I bought this afternoon but didn't seem to get any confirmation email. Is that normal?

How long does it take to ship?

    • i got my confirmation email straight away.
did you check your order history on the site?

    • Same here, no confirmation email. Bought in the afternoon and checked out as guest. No receipt or anything to print out, just a "Your order #____ has been processed!".

(Thought it was in junk, but it wasn't)

      • Yeah mine was actually in my junk. There was another email saying it will be shipped on Monday.

Going from the website, it won't get to me in Sydney until at least Tuesday?

        • Thanks, I found it again! Had a feeling I had moved it from junk but couldn't see it and when I went back to junk I had saw the latter email. All good now, hopefully. No shipping email though.

        • I just received my shipping email.

        • Received mine today (also Syd). Had the shipping email Tuesday. Did the OTA 4.3 update, seems to be all good, no bricking, happy here.

        • Spoke too soon. Data cable appears to be loose, keeps the charge but movement will cause the data cable to disconnect and reconnect.

  • It's showing availability as "out of stock" … yet you can add it to your shopping cart..

  • 16GB back in stock.

    • darn… I was going to get one for my little one but went out of stock again..

  • Ordered on Fri afternoon. Just received this morning. Quite impressive with the delivery.

  • I preferred mine Friday morning, and got some shipping coupon to track it, but when I ever the coupon number, shipping site reveals no information. Blast.

    • Same. Got a tracking number and said it would be shipped Monday. Nothing showed for the tracking number all of yesterday but it does appear today saying it was picked up this morning and is now "In Transit".

      • Mine is currently "onboard" as of 6:57 and still nothing. I saw a Fastway couriers truck pass by (stopped opposite my house) but it left before I could inquire. Honestly, it's a bit of a joke that it's taken nearly 3 working days in-counting to deliver within the SAME city (I ordered on Friday as well and it said it would be sent on Monday so I was expecting Tuesday being the latest). Not sure who's fault it is, but I'm really unhappy especially now if they tried to deliver it to the wrong house (I suspect so, since the people opposite never struck me as know-what-to-do-with-a-PC people).

        • Looks like mine was delivered at work tonight around 5:30pm. Luckily someone was still there to sign for it.

  • I got mine in Tassie early Tuesday morning (ordered late Friday evening). It was my second order with these guys and the second 10/10 experience.

  • Do you guys know who I have to deal with if I got a faulty product straight out of the box (Asus or cfonline)? Normally I'd go to the store and demand an exchange but since it's a refurb..
My tablet isn't charging and it claims only 6gb storage (I ordered the 32gb model).

    • Yeah, I've got the same problem re: storage. Just sent them a message about it. Might be a mislabelled 8GB model perhaps?

  • Had the same problem, contacted them, they said it was an upgrade related problem.
After the tablet finished upgrading just had to do a reboot, then all is good.
You may have to reboot twice.

  • Whats the delivery time with these mob? They've used 'couriers please' and the interwebz does not like them at all!!

  • Just bought one.
Very happy with the experience and price so far.
Will let you know how it goes.

    • Just a quick follow-up.
Got the unit and all seems fine so far.
No complaints yet - very happy.
