Nice find OP! Always handy to have these bits spare and will be interested to see just how 'tough' they really are :)

Good luck everyone. I never received the last freebie from Irwin.

  • Free is good. Also, my last one of these twisted a little on the tip while I was using it, so hopefully this is better!

      Thats what she said

I think the OP must have a screw loose.

Anyone else made themselves the Plant Supervisor?

If not then I am in charge…

  • +1

    Thanks OP.

Hopefully it gets honoured. I don't know about the rest of you, but with the exception of the Dulux promotion I haven't received a single free sample that I've signed up for.

I got a drillbit from their last sample. Have to be quick when there is only 200.

I got my free butt wipes from kleenex. Still waiting on the bonus refill pack from the posterior survey.

    • I still haven't gotten my SES work gloves.
I got an email saying they need my details again.

200 in total and no 'counter' shown on the site..
    I'm expecting disappointment ;)

Dont forget your work address !!
You might be able to get Two !!!

  • +1

    Wow… we can get screwed!!

  • I've found Irwin to be decent quality - always pay more when it comes to tools - thanks OP for the find.

  • I thought it said Dilbert. Now I'm disappointed.

  • with this I can screw around.. :)

Nice, I wonder how this compares to their Torsion series which I love.

BTW the title is misleading… this is a screwdriver bit, not a drill bit. It doesn't drill holes.

    • You're right. They had a free drill bit last time.

    • +1

I've seen plenty of people drilling holes with a phillips head!!! Not successfully though!

  • Still available - go go go

  • +3

Already 541 clicks from ozbargain and only 200 samples.
I doubt it is still available, they are probably just fishing for addresses now. There is no counter how many are gone.

  • Still working at 5:33
May or may not get the item though, as the above post mentions they may just be collecting info now.

These sell for wholesale at Australia Zoo.

This is a 'bit' of a good deal

  • square or phillips? :S

    • +5

If you don't know the difference between a square head and a phillips head then I don't think this deal is for you.

      • yeah but you see… this is ozbargain.

    • select a phillips

  • Don't know if I'll actually get one, but thanks OP.

  • nice. i got the masonary drill bit bit last time. hopefully i will get a bit as well

  • We should blacklist companies that don't honour their free samples so it saves us time for next time etc…

  • +1

2390 clicks as of 2025hrs. The first 200 free bits are long gone. :(

    • Page is still live but anyone entering now is probably going to be disappointed. I'll mark as expired.

      • If these are anything like their torsion bits there's a good chance people who receive these will be disappointed anyway

        • What's better compared to their torsion bits?

  • dang about to go buy one of these long bits ;), i bought a short irwin bit for my driver has been a great purchase, the bits i got with my drill strpped after about the third screw, these are still going

  • +1

I've only tried a handful but I found the makita double ended ones worked the best for me, one of my apprentices managed to break a head (after8 months of daily use) but the closest I've come to breaking them is by bending the bit after dropping my drill.
Last time I looked they were going for about $30 on eBay for 3 double ended bits but from memory I picked these up from gasweld during one of their sales for a little under $20

    • Interesting, I'll keep an eye out for them. The Torsion ones have been fine for me so far - much better than the standard cheapies. I'm interested to see how much different a better one would be.

Of course, a tougher bit means it's easier to destroy screw heads too!

  • Missed out. Spewing, because I could really use some.

  • Has anyone received one yet?

    • I didn't claim this one but I received the last freebie they offered.

    • Not yet.

    • nothing as of yet

    • Received my phillips no.2 today. Cheers OP.

  • Thanks again OP, received mine today.

  • -1
