$129.00 Telstra T81 Pre-Paid Frontier 4G Mobile Phone Android Dual Core 4.0" at Dick Smith

10

This phone has been on OzBargain with Office Works ($119), JB Hi Fi($99) recently, now with Dick Smith. Free delivery according to website

**Note friend i told of this deal went to Dick's store and If you tell them Office works has them in stock only 1x in Norlunga and 2x at Elizabeth they will likley price match down to $119 instead of $129 (as at 2 pm Thursday 17th Oct.) This was in South Australia Adelaide not sure about other states.

Have a good read of the feedback posts on OzBargain here

Battery life is quite good but not GREAT. Overall im 97% happy with this phone (compared to Samsung Galaxy Ace with terrible RAM size 260MB and no Android updates ever provided) but hey it was a low spec phone so yes i bit my tongue(but still it was soooo annoying)

Works perfectly with BOOST deal unlimited talk txt 3GB data Telstra network (no international calls) soooo happy on this…its noted on OzBargain too…. here

Never seen a DUEL core before, is that new?

And how is this price a bargain if it is still cheaper at OW and JB

    • +2

Duh… 'Duel' Core has been around for centuries! It's an ancient sport involving CPUs, horses, armour and big sticks!

  • Officeworks do free delivery for orders over $55 so their $119 is a better deal as no haggling is required. In saying that my son bought one of these last week and the local DS price matched to OW but they checked a local OW had stock before doing so.

The bad news. Not easy to get an unlock code for. I contacted the OzB go to man and couldn't get a code and Tesltra wanted $150 and 14 days.

Decent phone for Telstra based services for the price though, especially seeing as tyhough it supports 4G.

    • can unlock the phone for $22

      goto www.idroid.net.au

      goto unlocking and telstra unlocking

      • As I said, an unlock code could not be retrieved. Bagman gave me a refund.

        • I got the unlock code from bagman and it worked

        • Yeah apparently it returned an error for the IMEI. Snookered.

  • Which version of Android is it?

  • +1

Yeah if you do a little research, tel$tra have been promising a jellybean upgrade since the phone has been released, but has never came through with their promises. This phone has excellent specs, but is letdown by being stuck on ics, poor design, ordinary screen, and bad camera. The main selling point seems to be its a cheap 4g phone. Jb were recently selling these for $99 too. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/118052
