Not a bargain, see ShopBot. Quickshop has it for ~$935 delivered, although admittedly with a very limited warranty.

At best it's an OK price. But certainly not a bargain.

    • If someone came in with that price id try to match it no worries. A lot of people dont like buying online these days either..

    • Tantryl - how on earth can you compare an IMPORTED product to a localised one?

You are looking at units that are shipping from countries around the world and they do not have the correct mains plug for Australia. Sure you will probably get a compatible one, but the extra $64 for a piece of mind and proper warranty far outweighs the savings. What happens when something goes wrong and you have to send it back? 1 month warranty is atrocious, and since Sony are not backing the warranty you can be sure they will try and do anything to get out of honouring it.

This is a good deal. And if the OP is willing to match the $935 for an imported deal - even better!

      • Thanks for that.. Could only probably match that here at the southport store if you ask for me, Daniel. Its a lil too cheap, other stores will get angry if I say they could do it too.. but ill look after anyone from OzBargain.

Whoa there, that's some impressive either anger or disbelief. No need to start in with the 'how on earth's' and the capital letters.

You know what, on further inspection I agree. I chose that $935 price at random, but I figured at least one of those shopbot places under $1,000 wouldn't be import/short warranty. A bit presumptuous of me.

It certainly seems like an Aussie store using regular distribution for the HDR-TG1's is lucky to go under $1,100 or even $1,200.

I revoke my negative, good sir. And maybe next time you might consider I'm a rational, and reasonable individual and simply state your case without the shocked tone - if just invites the person you disagree with to continue disagreeing out of spite.

You sound very pompous. Speak normal!
