I didn't look at anything else, Ive been out of the loop for so long I wouldn't know a good game deal if it slapped me in the face.
I know the Wii deal is good because everyone here says so, its for the kids.
I went to a couple and both have been out of stock (even though they still had display boxes on shelves).
At the EB games I've been to, they won't price match either.
There was no clearance tickets on the games, so I didn't bother checking.
I'm pretty sure this sale was meant to start Thurs, it's just online saying that it was today. None of the staff in either store I went to had any clue this was happening?
The only Wii games either store had were fairly new releases or old licensed games (such as movie tie ins, etc)
My local big w store is completely empty (Wii console) …, so I ordered mine online early this morning (6:30am?)
I was first in line and got the last PS3 from Big W Epping, initially told me sale starts on Thurs, but after speaking to manager and seeing the online catalogue stating available from today got it for $148.

Mario Kart Bundle
BigW staff told me it's best to get them online with Click & Collect and then pick-up at your local store. In-store, the sale doesn't start 'til Thursday, I was told. Online it starts today. I wish that could be made clearer. Stores will not be getting any additional stock other than what they have (since it's a clearance item).
To be honest, I already have the Mario Kart Bundle bought for $99 earlier this year in Kmart (and then bought additional controllers separately, thanks OzBargain), but I thought this might be great for a gift. I don't know if I am going to bother though…

Just bought the one and only black Wii bundle from Golden Grove store in SA. And the bloke behind me was waiting to buy their one and only white one. We had to convince the sales girl to sell at that price by showing her the online catalogue. Apparently she had earlier this morning turned away someone who wanted to buy 6 of them, but she told them the sale didn't begin until Thursday.

my store got 22 ps3s, but wont sell it for $148 as in the system it still shows $298, they said to try early thursday….
My store had ps3s 9 on the system, but couldnt find a single one after looking at the back (even though store manager agreed to sell at 148) for 1.5 hours.

I got the Goodguys at Maribrynong to price match the Wii yesterday and my wife got 2 PS3's from Sunshine this morning.
I went to Sunshine yesterday and found that they had 10 in stock out the back. I noticed that online it was showing sale starts 28th, while the actual catalogue was showing 31st.
My wife went today and they said they didn't have any in stock. She said, yes you do, you have 10 out the back. She was told that I should not have been told that and she said, what, your staff shouldn't tell the truth.
Anyhow, after plenty of haggling and her showing them the website on her phone saying that the sale started on 28th, she got 2 for $148 each.
Okay so the sale is officially starting online today and they have no stock available?

went to the store as soon as it opened, they said it only starts online today and that they couldn't sell it to me at the store- i come home and its sold out online…THANKS BIG W!! i don;t see why they can't just sell it to me in the store…so stupid! :(

Just to confirm- this was available online early this morning. I got my Mario Kart bundle at just before 6am. I looked at the site later and reckon it sold out a short while after 8am. Store stock seems minimal. My order status shows as back ordered so I am still hoping it's going through ok….
I also ordered Wii console this morning. Paid via paypal, just checked my credit card account, and the money have been debited from my account.
Rocked up at Big W. They had none of the 120Gb, but in the confusion the manager sold us the 320Gb Slim for $200, so very happy!
Maybe they didn't have any 120gb consoles because its a 160gb console, confusion indeed…

Just picked up a Wii from Harvey Norman for same price. I asked if they would price match and they had no issues doing so. Possibly because it seemed to be the only one left in stock, but nonetheless, try HN for price matching.

I went to a Big W store and the lady at the counter didn't believe me when I said it was set to start on the 28th originally.
Didn't had a picture to prove otherwise. Would love to go back and try again.

EDIT: My bad… once I click "View details" I can see it's set to Backordered.

Anybody in Vic looking for a Wii Mario Kart Bundle, I got Harvey Norman at Fountain Gate to price match for me the last one they had in stock (the last black one in Victoria, apparently) and hold it for me until the end of the day.

Has anyone that ordered the PS3 online received confirmation of their order being shipped? I ordered mine at 6:50AM on the 28th - received a confirmation email with status of "Order Being Processed" but hasn't moved since then.
Am beginning to wonder if this is going to be similar to the Lenovo laptop saga!
Not sure why you've been negged, but perhaps they're waiting until the In Store sale date (31/10/13) before they start dispatching. Hopefully they won't reneg on the deal (I didn't purchase one, but I can imagine the uproar!).

Lucky me ordered one for the kids (their much loved 6 year old wii died a month ago) yesterday for click and collect but info says that it's booked - I have no confirmation email - nothing. Hoping I will still be lucky and it arrives at the store. Anyone in the same boat as me?
I too have ordered click and collect on Monday but no ETA for delivery yet. People who have opted for home delivery has already got the dispatched email. Let's hope we get our Wii tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Signed up to comment - I walked down to the Big W in the Brisbane CBD, the guy behind the counter refused to sell before tomorrow. Went over to JB Hifi in the same building, no Mario Kart bundles left - but he was happy to match. Walked up to the Albert St JB Hifi down the road from the Hungry Jacks in the mall… price matched without an issue, and even asked me what colour Wii I wanted. Happy days :)
Went to checkout Blacktown Westpoint BigW just to check out if they had any PS3 or Wiis. Was looking around fully expecting to find none, found some locked in the viewing cabinet & asked before I left. The worker checked catalog (said price starts 31st), got unit out [last one visible anywhere] & scanned it, came up as $74, kindly gave it to me at that price before sale. Bought Wii. Lucky!

All ps3s can be hardware modded, but it depends what one your model version number is to work out what chip to buy, can people give an indication of what their ones are please…?
I.e. 3xxxx or 4xxxx etc?
The 2 I got are CECH-3002A. I havent opened the box but the ps3 dev wiki says they are firmware 3.60 and not flashable.
Thanks if that but if you 3key or cobra you can have current forward (potential online play) and just emulate the games, the risk is unlike the xk3y the have not been able to extract the dvd rom key, so it's still risky till they are able to do that..
I was 5th in line at Watergardens, VIC, no 160GB was available but they had only 3 x 320GB which they sold for the same price of $148 and they also had 5 of of the 12GB Skylander Bundle for $148.00.

Actually I didn't, I realise that I may of come across as a spoilt brat, but didn't feel the need to post my entire saga when asking for a recept that others asked for aswell, in my case I went to put my item on layby, when I did so it was the staff member who said she thought the consoles were going on sale, after I out the layby she had a look to discover it was the same console, we went back over to layby to confirm it could be edited…they asked me to come back in Thursday to 'edit' the layby, I went back in only to find out they had a lot of people try this and that it can't be done as it's against store policy and I have to pay full price…if I had the recept I would of gone elsewhere like target and given them my money and just gottn a refund for the money I put down at big w…so that's my story, I actually have nothing myself, thanks for the negs I get that I sounded like a spoilt sook but I actually ended up with no console at all unless I want one for $300…asif I wouldn't get a nex gen if I was spending that much!

i got this exactly same bundle console for $134… really confused with bigw's pricing system…
it seems bigw changed the price in system, tried two skus including the one on receipt, both showed $268…
After trying no less then 15 stores around nsw for the wii bundle (including big w, target, harvey norman, jb hi-fi, the good guys, eb games and dick smith) and after rejection after rejection i finally found stock at kmart burwood. They had 3 left but were reluctant to price match as big w no longer had it in stock and it was also a "clearance" sale which apparently they don't do. After a bit of talk and a call to his manager, he decided to cave and let me have it for $74!!!

For anyone interested as of 11am there were 2 left, so if anyone still needs one try burwood kmart- they should be more willing to sell it at this price now (you're welcome :P). Was tempted to buy all 3 and then broden them… :P

I've recvd my ps3 from big w online. Although my wii is still on it's way. According to the online order status it was shipped direct from supplier and won't get here until next week.
Like Leen92 I managed to price match at Kmart. It must be black - and showed them physical Big Wobblies catalogue. Least hassles as they sell it $99 if you must have it.

I drove all the way to fountain gate BigW and there was a line of people waiting and it was 8:30 on the dot. Only four to five consoles available = most of us missed out.

Did you try Endeavour Hills? Fountain Gate was open till midnight last night. You would have got one if you went last night.
Endeavour Hills had none….although they did appease the few of us there with other deals.
