Well, in theory, you already get 10% off for signing up and becoming an "Citizen". This is an additional 20% off that price, and only applies to RRP books. Generally speaking you can find it cheaper through Booko, although I'm sure there are some gems. But nothing that I'm after works out cheaper after this discount. Good luck, bargain hunters - hope you fare better.

  • Questions: Does this discount apply to preorders?

When I preorder from Bookworld, I am charged immediately, or only when the item ships?

Some of their paizo RPG products would work out very cheap with this 30% discount.

Partial answer: Discount applies to preorders. Bestiary Box 3 works out much cheaper than Amazon.

Looking at over 20 books i was interesting in buying even with 30% off, they were still cheaper at bookdepo.

    • why are people down voting? He is just speaking the truth.

Probably 'coz the neg is unwarranted. There are bargains to be had, just requires a bit of forensic detective work to find.

    • I suspect that local Australian stock will be much more expensive than Amerikaprices, but US published items that are shipped in from a US supplier will be very competitive with this discount. Imagine, not being ripped off by Australian retailers for once. Miracles do occasionally happen.

Imagine, not being ripped off by Australian retailers for once. Miracles do occasionally happen.

So you'd be happy with American wages, working conditions and consumer rights in exchange for slightly cheaper stuff?

        • we're heading there, if Abbot has his way

        • Slightly cheaper? A lot of items sell in the US for half the price they sell here, included Made in China items. GST + Import duty is around 15.5%, so paying double for China made is pure theft.

True, in the US the minimum wage (eg at Walmart) is almost half of what you get here, but wages for middle class jobs are comparable to Australian wages. Unionized workers and civil servants in the US are just as inefficient as they are in Australia (what some would call 'good working conditions') , like 3 men council maintainance work teams (one of them just a supervisor who does nothing) when a single man would suffice. Hospital emergency wards in the US have to treat sick folk even if the don't have insurance. There are heaps of people in the US living on disability pensions, just like in Australia. The quality of life there (the degree of socialism) isn't really that different from Australia, just less holidays.

      Good deal for Australian titles.

There are many local Australian textbooks you just can't get on bookdepo. So just because this deal doesn't apply to you, you're downvoting? I understand not upvoting for that reason, but seriously…

    • +2

So? 30% is a good offer regardless of what books you personally are looking at.

    Hi All,

First post. Hope the below info is going to be useful for some.
Try using http://lifetimedistributors.com.au/, choose your location (NSW, WA etc…)
The Australian Bake Off is only $15. There is a delivery cost though unless you can deliver it to work place
Deliveries to the work place are free (not sure if it is all states) and have no minimum spend
All postal deliveries incur a $12.00 postal fee and require a minimum spend of $30.00 per order (excluding postal fee). Postal orders over $99.00 are shipped free of postage charges (depending on region).

    • Thanks but I can't get stuff delivered to workplace so it's still cheaper for me with this deal. But that's just my experience so the lifetime website might be cheaper for some.

    • Love lifetime distributors. They have really really cheap books but only good if your company has their display stand because it is free delivery then

Pre-order the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid novel for those who are interested:

    Less 20% = $7.91

Released on 06/11/13 - I highly doubt you'll find anyone, online or physical store, that'll be selling it for less or near this when its released! Thanks OP!
