I have been searching for cheap accommodation and came across this posted by an IHG employee (thanks cscmtp) at slickdeals.net.

International IHG hotels family and friends sale for employee Lisa Berry from Charleston, SC - huge discounts if you book accommodation before May 31st. Simply follow the instructions on the website. Hundreds of people have used this and not been questioned.

I did a search for Australian hotels and Tokyo hotels (to use with jetstar's cheap flights) and they were 20-40% off!

    As much as I would like to use this offer, how do I know that I won't get caught out by the time I actually get to the hotel, especially given that this person is from the US?

    The friends and family rate is only for that purpose, that's why the webpage is personalized to each employee, but I guess the worse that can happen is the hotel charging the full rate rather than the discounted rate so probably worth a try.

    I work for IHG. Right now the program is running until May 31 but you can book rooms up to 50 weeks in advance. There are rumors that IHG will be extending the program beyond May 31 and I have a good source that tells that it will be extended (but no formal announcement yet).

      And what is the employee location for the person that is on that link (William Johnson)?
      I've just booked 2 nights at the Rialto in Melbourne, and I'm crossing my fingers that nothing will go wrong!

    I work at the corporate office in the USA. I'm glad that you were able to use the link. Please trust me, nothing will go wrong. Yes, that's something that I forgot to mention….
    for the Form (which sometimes the hotels don't even ask for) use William Johnson for the Employee Name. That's me.
