There is no automatic renewal! If you decide you don't want to continue with Yatango after 30 days, simply remove your SIM and on you go. No hard feelings :)

Why do you need my Credit Card details?

Well this is a requirement of ours as a form of ID. Not to worry though, all information will be stored safely. It may be important to note that to make international calls or SMS you will need to top-up your account as they are not included in your free months’ usage.

  • Do they have LTE?

Edit: Nothing on their site, but http://www.computerworld.com.au/article/524510/kogan_mobile_… ran an article about how they are "enabling 4G in the following months"

    • Not yet, but "in the near future"

  • Wow. Not bad at all. PAYG rates aren't quite as good as what TPG used to have but it's a lot more flexible. You can get a discount by prepaying for a certain amount of sms, calls or data. You can even have $0/month PAYG. Great if you are a frugal user otherwise look to Vaya.
    https://www.yatangomobile.com.au/

    • Hate PAYG due to the surprise factor…, Vaya is the best IMO, soo much quota soo little money !

But this is free so, GRAB IT !

  • what network do they use?

    • Optus

      • +1

Probably the most congested of the main networks (data wise). Mileage will vary depending on where you are :/

  • $20 security deposit required for monthly billing or $0 for pre-pay.

  • PAYG rates (15c for local call and SMS) are high compared to amaysim (12c per minute for local call and SMS)…

  • I signed up for this offer a while back. When the first month is up, it will just become PAYG, so as long as you don't make calls or use any data, it be used purely to answer calls .

    • Did you need to pay the $20 security deposit for PAYG?

      • Looks like it. I got to end and it wanted to charge $20 (and 40c credit card fee)

        • That's why I chose pre-pay

      • I did not pay a nickel.

  • +1

$40/month for 10Gb is quite good.

    • +4

trying to get more than 1gb downloaded in a month on Optus would be quite good. At least in my area :D

  • awesome deal. Just ordered one. Thanks

  • +6

Thank you thank you thank you. This is a great deal as you said if we have visitors. I got the 1/2 price Boost deal a few weeks ago for my brother and now this comes up just when I needed 1 sim card for my sister-in-law.

That's both visitors mobile phones sorted (with heaps of calls and 3 GB data each) only for $20.

I am glad I am an OzBargainer and thanks fellow OzBargainers :)

  • This was very good as a free porting service to dump my unwanted Vaya account after buying the Galaxy S3 deal for 4 Hunj.

    • +1

      what your feedback on Vaya?

  • +1

Never even cracked open the sim card.

Vaya's Support Team's grasp on English is HORRENDOUS.

It took so long to get an answer on simple questions regarding that offer.

    • Ditto. Just chat with their support online regarding their data block charging but did not get answer. The support not only typed sloooowly but also left conversation without any sign. Maybe should avoid this company since we need to hand out the credit card number.

  • Good deal

Thanks! Ordered, hope it comes in soon.

  • cheers!@

  • I dont understand the way they do the data block charging, my tablet says I am using 86mb, but their site says I am using 138mb, anyone got the same experience?

    • Cos they charge in 1mb seasons instead of per kb.

Live connected is owned by vaya now and have the equivalent monthly plans for 1-2 dollars more but they charge per ;-).

      • How much do they charge per smile these days?

  • This is great as my gf is visiting from overseas for 3 weeks.

    Thanks for the post

  • thanks. grabbed one for an overseas visitor too.

  • Why do you need my Credit Card details?

Well this is a requirement of ours as a form of ID… .. But if you forget to throw the sim away after a month we will charge you

Be careful guys, if you forget to throw the sim away after a month… Good deal for those looking for a month.

    • Are you sure?

    • Yeah…. Don't throw it away until you've either gone online/called and cancelled it or at the very least changed to the PAYG plan so it shouldn't cost anything…..

    • Just a note, they don't remove your CC details after you cancel.

  • @dealman . can you post link where you quoted it from ??

"But if you forget to throw the sim away after a month we will charge you"

the terms clearly say. There is no automatic renewal! If you decide you don't want to continue with Yatango after 30 days.

    • yeah, if you don't wanna renew just mail me your SIM and I will dispose of it properly.

  • Can I order the sim now but start using it after a month or so?

    • When I got mine, the month only started after I activated it online a week or so later… Not sure if it will be ok for a month but never know…. They did keep sending me reminder messages for what it's worth….

  • I was with them, they are good but I got carried away with watching YouTube and the bill was bad as it can certainly add up, that is why pre-paid is better as once you've used up your allowance you don't have to worry about excess usage charges, so now I use the free WI-fi from my local library.
On he negative their billing is horrendous half the time you don't know what the hell you're actually paying for, also when I cancelled they still kept sending me bills even thought I haven't used any as I threw away the SIM card, they still thought I was on the monthly plans, had to email them for them to stop bothering me with bills.
Otherwise do use them as they are cheap.

  • almost sign up with them, stopped just prior to enter my credit card details then went on Google and searched a lot of bad reviews. I need more feedback.

    • I used a credit card that I am going to cancel soon, otherwise I will use a visa debit card which has $0 balance. We all have a number of such debit cards from previous bank promotions, don't we? Such as the citiplus or Mebank or ING direct (with fading out rebate).

      • I agree that it's best to use something that you will cancel soon but even with debit card you have you have the balance >= $1 otherwise it fails. I tried and failed with debit card that I will be cancelling soon but has credit of $0.5

  • Don't forget you can get $30.75 cashback using qwibble (ex buckscoop) ie http://qwibble.com.au/yatango….. So they will pay you for trying them….. Not sure if it will work if you pay absolutely nothing, but if you order an extra sim then should be good…..

  • how is this compare with Aldi or woolworths mobile?

    • +2

      Woolworths mobile is closed/closing
Aldi just had their inclusions slashed.

Imo Vaya/Liveconnected probably offer the best value if
      a) you don't mind Optus
      b) you're patient and willing to work through their wonky support systems

If you pass a) but fail b)
      Try amaysim

If you fail a) and b)
      Go boost mobile

  • How does pre-pay work?

    E.g. say I only wanted 200mb a month for $5.
What amounts do I get to recharge with?
And does the $5 a month come out of my "credit"?
If I don't have $5 credit by the next month, do I just not get my data until I do recharge? or…

  • just checked my bank account. $1 was charged.

    • Yes I got charged as well, it's probably put on hold to verify the card and will be returned in a few days.

  • if you look at the handset options they are pretty cheap, like xperia Z1 only $669 upfront. If you can keep the phone and throw away the sim after a month, this is cheaper than retails which around $700 for the Z1 currently.
