Baby highchair for feeding times

Hi Guys,
Seen any bargain for baby highchair for feeding times? Any recommendations?

  • I am a fan of the cheap ikea one. So easy to clean.

  • Ikea Antilop - http://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/40157918/

This has got to be the Ozbargainer's high chair lol It's cheap and the most practical; baby/toddler meal times are messy and you can just hose this thing down after. Some of the fancier chairs with padding can get stains and/or food stuck in nooks and crannies

  • The ikea ones are great (and cheap)! Don't bother with buying the extra padding, it only makes it harder to clean up.

With young kids it might be worth investing in a suction bowl, so they can't throw the bowl off the table - ours has been a lifesaver on many occasions.

    And good luck!

    • +1 to suction bowl! Saved us hours of cleaning when bub has a tanty! Only have to clean what he throws which thankfully isn't that often

  • ikea antilop is generally considered best value but like a bumbo shouldn't be used until 3-6mths old when your baby has good head/neck control - can hold head upright for a while

before then a chair with a back that extends up behind the head is needed

others prefer something adjustable on wheels

for a portable seat to use in cafes/restaurants, i recommend http://www.bigw.com.au/baby-kids/feeding/highchairs/bpnBIGW_…

at 2-3yrs upgrade to stokke tripp trapp :)

  • I too was a fan of the Ikea highchair, until we saw another one at half price at Tarjay. It was $70 (reduced from $140).

Yes, the Ikea one is very simple, easy to clean, no nooks and crannies for food, it looks good and it's cheap.

However, a high chair that can recline and height adjustable is also very useful for babies. We put our baby in the Tarjay high chair when she was only 2 months old. Obviously 2 month old baby don't eat and can't even 'sit', but because it's reclineable, you can put the baby there. She can 'sit' with us at the dining table, we can also wheel the baby around the house on the 'high chair'.

That $70 Tarjay high chair is my best impulse buying ever!

  • Definitely the antilop, I also got some padding that went in the back of it, for when my son was younger.

  • +1 to ikea chair with suction bowl. We used it with both our kids after getting a fancy high chair initially.

Also a good option is a Bumbo for when they are young. It isn't a high chair but can be put on the table and provides good support.

NO - bumbos are only intended for safe use on the floor not raised surfaces :(
