How big of a Jerry Can would you need to buy so that your savings offset the costs of buying the Jerry Can?

  • +2

depends - did you buy that Jerry-Can as part of an OzBargain special?

It'd take years for diesel to go bad. By which time you'd have refilled your car many times already..

Who know how long this fuel has been sitting their in the tanks at Bunkerhill…

In true Ozbaragibn style all ozbargainers bust fill up with Diesel. even if u have a petrol car. Cuz isn't that what we do? buy stuff we don't really need? :D

No you will damage your petrol engine with diesel. Just use your jerrycans from last sca or aldi sale to fill as much as you can and wait for the time you get a diesel engine, this thing lasts for years as per comments above.

      • The humor of the above comment was completely lost on you. :(

        • I disagree, there is plenty of sarcasm in the latter half of the comment.

        • We all know how many "maybe-useful-someday" stuff we got in the past because of OZB, now here's a deal to make the jerrycan useful, although stocking not-for-now diesel isn't ideal, but stocking such stuff becomes a habit of us right?

  • anyone has a spare tanker to rent?

    • Cant get a prime mover in there unless its a flat top/Bonneted truck, definitely cant get a cab over in there. (we tried)

Any want ti swap diesel for petrol. You have to supply the jerrycans or I ll siphon it in the ground around you and we can have a smoke afterwards.

  • I'd be wary of such cheep Diesel… It could be contaminated with a fungal bloom…

    http://www.aftermarketsuppliers.org/Councils/Filter-Manufact…

    • "These contaminants are called Hydrocarbon Utilizing Microorganisms, or humbugs, for short."
      Bah.. humbugs!!!

    • Coles express bowsers have filters on them now for both water filtration and fungal. Algae generally is only an issue if diesel is sitting for very long periods without touching (ie months) any servo in the greater Sydney area would be turning over way too much for algae to be a problem.

You typically only encounter it in rural areas that dont see much traffic or seasonal.
