Scanpan Ceramic Titanium Classic Fry Pan RRP $179 Now $36.20 Myer Liverpool May Include Others

660

Was at Myer and saw this in the clearance section.

Picked myself up 2 of these, its a Scanpan Ceramic Titanium 26cm Frypan down from $179 to $145 and it also had take a further 75% off so brought it down to $32.50. This is real cheap considering their going for $116.95 on ebay. Myer Liverpool has couple of green left 1 blue and about 3 or 4 reds left. Also confirmed with the Myer lady that its across all stores.

Great bargain for Christmas or just to fry your eggs on a nonstick pan.

Goodluck!

  • How is this compare to Tefal?

    • +5

Not sure but for the price i paid for i cant complain.
Plus my mum told me to get it because there good apprently

    • +4

Its in a totally different league to tefal. I use one at home. $150 is a fair price for it. $35 is insane

    • +2

I have several Tefal pans. Tefal last a couple of years with moderate use.

I have 1 Scanpan pan. It's now 18 years old and only starting to fade the past few weeks. The quality of Scanpan beats the heck out of Tefal.

    • Shits on Tefal

      • +19

but it wipes off real easy

        • TEFAL, TEFlon & ALuminum. One is said to give Cancer, the other is believed to cause Dementia. After studying it's composition during an Engineering Materials class years ago I made myself a promise never to use the stuff, and to convince family members never to use it ……. since your neither I guess it doesn't matter though :)

I use some Scanpan gear, very durable & light weight ……… also wipes off really easily. Unlike steel pans or skillets, I never have to use Gumption.

Awesome pice OP, even my usual can't match them atm

          http://www.graysoutlet.com.au/home-garden/kitchenware/cookwa…

        • What about the PFOA free tefal products?

    • +5

      Tefal may potentially cause cancer.

      • LOL who down voted this? The man speaks the truth. Can kill small animals through the gasses it lets off when heated at high temps.

        • +1

Then it's handy - saves having to dispatch said small animals prior to butchering them.

    • tefal if u want new pan very few years
Scanpan last 20year++ My nan still used he set she got in 80s today.
I my self u have scanpan i have them now for 5years plus.

    • My family has been using this exact fry pan (as far as I can tell) for around 6 or 7 years - it's amazing.

    • +4

      i bought two

    • +14

The receipt holds the answer. Common sense..

  • +3

awesome price, brought one for $150 5 yrs ago used it everyday still looks perfect, tefal ones i have gone through 4 in 5 years. Tefal pan starts to peel of after short amount of use

    • +1

Looks like I am heading to Myer tomorrow, my Tefal from HN has been disappointing vs expectations.

  • +2

*Note: contain neither ceramics or titanium, and is coated in a grey paint

I would buy Tefal at target when its half price. The coating seems to last alot longer and stands higher heats

    • +1

then it's not safe. ceramic is healthier to cook with. that teflon coating is bad

  • +2

Tried Chermisde store, its scanned at $72.50. Not as good.

  • Each store sets their own 'clearance' price, so this is good if you are near the Liverpool store.

  • were there many left at Liverpool?

    • +1

All gone. I bought the last one. Pan is dented in two places. All clearance stocks have minor damages like that according to the sales lady.

  • +1

I've just called Melbourne Bourke Street store, no 26cm left, only 32cm at $259, and 28cm at $89.

I then called the Highpoint store, they have the 26cm at $219, not on special.

    • Did you ask for colour one?

      • Didn't know there's coloured ones, I only asked for the "Scanpan Ceramic Titanium Classic Fry Pan".

        • check my post, I called bourke st, Highpoint, Ringwood and Southland + Knox.

Got the last two @ Knox (they were 50% off but price matched to 75%).

Ringwood has stock but only 50% off, some people managed to get them to do 75% off. got a receipt if u need it, pm me if u need it

    • Thanks for finding that out. Kind of considering 28cm at $89 but have seen them on sale around that price before at the Myer sales so might wait til later when Im more financial. But $36.20 is seriously an amazing price, so congrats on finding that one. One thing though I havent seen the Colours by range before so maybe its an old range and thats why its out so cheap, but still a good find :)

  • +4

No dice at Perth CBD. They have them but only at 50% off. Not cheap enough to warrant a purchase from me today.

    • Thanks, you saved me having to look :)

      • At Myer Perth city now. They know about it and will honour 75% off. About 20 left.

        • Was just served by a different person who said she was team leader and would not honour it saying that their sales are different to the eastern states.

Try your luck..otherwise there might be a different team leader tomorrow….

Dont need to buy from those big shops which is too much even 50% discount.I bought from Online also I lost trust on Scanpan as they are not good enough as they are supposed to be, nonstick becomes sticky after 1 year.

    • That shouldnt happen after a year. Also the only problem with buying products online and not from a proper retail outlet is you run the risk of buying a grey import/parallel line/cheap knock off from os, which seem to exist with all major brands on the internet

      • +2

one pointer, dont use any spray or olive oils… been told by rep that it stuffs the coating up.

        • Yeah right, so is that spray olive oil or olive oils in general, cos I only use olive oil. I imagine it would just be the spray olive oil cos it is sticky and not like the normal olive oil

        • -1

i thought it was bollocks too, but google says otherwise. if you can believe anything on the interwebs.

        • yep, use bran oil. olive oil and canola (which is what is in sprays) are both bad for teflon.

        • one pointer, dont use any spray or olive oils… been told by rep that it stuffs the coating up.

+1 good non-stick pans need little or no oil – use rice bran oil if you must

          http://www.woll-cookware.com.au/consumers/use-and-care-instr…

      • I bought it from a authorized scanpan retailer online but it's only 30-50%price.

    • Maybe ur online "store" gave u a dud, coz that shouldn't happen with a scan pan. I doubt myer would sell a fake, so this is a bargain

      • +1

I bought wok originally from Myer at half price then it started sticky as hell aslo the handle came loose, went to the service station which gave me new one,but ssame thing happened again after one year, the lady in service station told me it's too hot when cooking blab….
If it's no good to use olive oil then it's supposed to be written in the conditions.

What a joke that can't use olive oil on a pan!

Anyway, I bought 3 pans and wok ,3pans are still OK cos I only use few times but wok, don't know how to say, handle has been fixed twice, wok itself is still sticky as hell.

    • I lost trust on Scanpan as they are not good enough as they are supposed to be, nonstick becomes sticky after 1 year.

the only worthwhile non-stick scanpan range is ctx, made in denmark
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/107356

but skk and woll are the best - they can handle high heat up to 250-300c

  • 72.50 at myer brisbane cbd

    • +1

We just showed them the ozbargain receipt and picture and they gave it to us for $36 :)

      Heaps left.

They said they hate it when ppl ask for the 75% off as the cbd store does not offer it. Apparently a 'suburban' thing but they were happy to reduce for us. Kind guy there :)

      • Haha. I got two from them as well, after showing the receip. you must have done all the persuasive work because I pretty much got it straight away.

        • +1

I got the last one from Brisbane CBD store after a lady decided not to get 2. The friendly guy there brought it straight to me after the lady decided against the second whilst at the counter. (We'd been chatting beforehand.) He gave it to me $36.25 saying they'd sold a lot of them at that price. I mentioned I'd seen it online which he said he was aware of. Good bloke.

    • Damn it, I was going to go there tonight, but saw this post first and figured they would budge. I saw those pans a few weeks ago and was waiting till they were 75% off.

Very surprised that Myers honoured an interstate price. Look at how they are when you ask for a price match for instance.

      • Chermside Myer also has them, called them and they put one aside for me, trusted me with the price interstate!

  • none at Myer Marion SA

  • Jealous. We needed one.

  • Have you guys ever tried stone cookware? ie. stonedine, flavorstone, etc…

The korean pans are actually stone coated too and not only are they cheap, but honestly the best non-stick I've ever tried. So far, seems to also last.

  • No good for induction, sadly.

  • Do they come with a glass lid?

    • No.

  • Deal not available at Fountain Gate, VIC Store. :(

  • +1

About 22 left in Ringwood (Melb). 1 red and plenty of blue and green. Agreed to match OPs receipt once off. Explained different stores run different discount cycles. Thank you OP.

    • unity1, could you please post or pm me a copy of your receipt, would be easier to price match your's at the same store.

    • If I could have a copy of the receipt too that would be very much appreciated. Thanks unity1

      • Happy to do that for you when I get home from work today which will be after 9pm. I hope that is not too late for you guys. Broden and the likes can clean up these sort of deals within minutes.

      • Enable your pms please ktl

        • sorry, pm is now enabled.

    • I just rang Myer Ringwood and after the salesperson I spoke to consulted with a manager I was told that:
      - they wouldn't price match the Myer Liverpool deal, even if shown a copy of the receipt
      - they would price match their own sale above if shown a copy of the receipt, but only for today, Saturday. When I asked "what about tomorrow?" I was told they definitely won't match that price tomorrow, Sunday.

      • What about the day after, Monday?

        • +1

As mentioned, I was told they would price match their own sale above if shown a copy of the receipt, but only for today, Saturday.

  • Nothing in Chatswood. 75$ in Macquarie uni… nothing in Sydney CBD :((

  • just called carindale brisbane myer and reserved 2 of them both blue. There is 1 blue left if anyone is interested. Its also 75% off like what op posted but only for the 'Colors by' series 26cm. So I am assuming that the other series models are not on discount.

  • +1

Thanks OP & unity1, finally got it at Knox City, they're all out of them now.

  • I got the only two in Top Ryde at 9am this morning :)

Didn't even have to show them the receipt, it scanned straight away at the right price :)

  • Thanks OP. I was able to get the 28cm green one down from $160 to $40 today. It was the last one as it was part of their display and the shop assistant took it down for me. They still had some blue in a smaller size, I think it was 20cm, which may also be reduced.

  • Tried Melbourne Bourke st, southland (No clearance discount).

Some stores have 50% off only some do 75% off.

Eastland (ringwood) myer has some but they only do 50% off.

  • +2

the lady i rang up looked up where the stock is throughout Australia. She also said for $9.95 they will post it to you so you don;t need to go to the store.

BUT be aware, these pans are not the quality that scan pan lovers are used to. These are 1 year guarantee pans only and not the 10 year guarantee. they are thinner and they also don't turn on with the latest induction technology.

Make sure you know what you are buying and are happy to make that choice

  • I managed to get two more from Knox (the last two as I put them on hold on Sunday).

Was worried one of you might show up and pretend to be Mark hhahah

  • Got a 28cm and 26cm from Knox, they scanned at 50% off but I told the woman some Stores are scanning at 75% off so she did it. 1 28cm and 3-4 26cm left.

    • nice job big boy, how much was 28cm? I got 26 cm x 2 from Knox. But had to sleep with one of the staff… she was average looking tho so not too bad

  • +2

Man, you got a good deal. I had to engage in bed duties with the cranky old gollum that works at Eastland.

Her non stick surface wore out years ago :(

    • Lols just saw this
