  • how this mob can sell so cheap?

    • I was looking at their iPhones the other day. I had the impression it was grey import stock that is claimed to have Apple warranty over here. No ideas about the actual experience though.

      • It could be non-members.

        • +3

Does it really mean that much to you?

I can't see why so many people negged your comment? Strange packs of sheep

        • +2

I don't mind it tho, I gain some brief attention…, besides negging someone helps relieve real world frustrations, so I've done a few favours today ! :P

The prices don't strike me as particularly cheap for models that are now superseded…

      • +3

True, but you can't find em cheaper either…

        • +2

iPad minis have been available for low $300s (and under $300) delivered from a few retailers (such as Officeworks, Good Guys and Kogan) on multiple occasions over the course of 2013. See OzBargain's price history: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/ipad-mini

Now that they are superseded, these prices are OK but not particularly impressive; I wouldn't really describe them as "so cheap" as erwinsie stated, which is what my comment was getting at. I also wouldn't really recommend this iPad mini over the new one, considering the processor two generations behind the A7 and because the non-Retina display is a dinosaur.

But thanks for the neg whoever did so. :)

        • +2

it is what it is…, if you can find these exact ones cheaper then you've got a better/cheaper deal, the new mini costs nearly $500, so you can't tell a poor man what to buy when he can't afford it, see what i mean ? ;)

        • The ipad mini has not been superseded, the ipad mini (16gb) stays as a current product. In fact the ipad mini has had an increase in the RRP by Apple. The ipad mini retina is a new product and costs a lot more.

For close to $300 the original mini is a good device for many people,

  • The question is, is this current generation stock or last year's stock? It doesn't say anywhere, which leads to the presumption of last year's.

    • Last year's model.

    • +1

      come on… ofcourse last year…

      • +3

Plus the new one isn't available yet anyway, just with a launch date of "later in November".

        • That's the Retina model. The standard Mini is ready to ship.

        • Yes, but the first generation model in the new colours is available now… perhaps that is what poedgirl was getting at?

    • +12

Considering Apple have such strange naming conventions on their iPads. From 1st to 5th generation the following names, iPad, iPad 2, The new iPad, iPad with Retina display, iPad Air, it’s not easy to keep up.
Imagine someone selling the 3rd Generation iPad. ‘Hey, I’m selling you the new iPad, it’s not new new, but used… [to add more confusion to it] no no no, it’s not iPad with Retina display… but it does have Retina display".
Who knows what will be the name of the iPad mini's in the future

    • Look's like this year's considering the space grey colour.

      • They used pictures of last year's slate colour as well, and the listing is for 'black and slate'. IMO it's probably just old stock.

  • Old ipad mini (non retina). It has a5 core instead of the new a7. Stated a5 in description.

    sold out both ipad minis

Bought one , 3 left . Wife is going overseas this month and i'm getting the GST back , i.e. AUD$29.50 , making this AUD$265.50 , HOORAY !

    • +9

You'd better get them to round the price up to $300. Minimum $300 purchase to be eligible for a GST refund.

    iPad mini aka iPod touch.

  • Why are people buying this garbage non-retina ipad?

Why not save up for something worth your money?

    • Retina version is $480.

    Ummm..

Target has 16gb ipad mini's free delivery or pick up for $299.

      • Whoops.

        Nothing to see here.

(Target aus do usually run out models cheaply. We should all check in-store tomorrow)

        • -1

          close, you're getting hotter…

  • Apple still sells iPad Mini old model for $349

    http://store.apple.com/au/buy-ipad/ipad-mini

    So that's over 15% off.

  • IF YOU GOING OVERSEAS CAN CLAIM 10% GST BACK FROM AIRPORT. If you purchased the ipad mini for $295 - HOW?

    • +2

      http://www.customs.gov.au/site/page4646.asp

Spend $300 (GST inclusive) or more in the one store and retain your invoices

You'd need to ask the seller to round it off to $300.

    • Ask the store if they could pay $5 extra, or ask them if they were willing to round up the invoice to $300? (As ash2000 suggested above.) :)

      • Sorry guys, I know how it works but the listing on the ipad mini is misleading because it says exactly as I quoted above "IF YOU GOING OVERSEAS CAN CLAIM 10% GST BACK FROM AIRPORT". They really should put in the clause that ozhunter has mentioned above.

  • +4

Not worth it. Retina mini is 4 times as powerful and comes with the retina screen. The current mini screen was crap.

  • Embarrassing bunch of drivle above.

  • ipod sold out

    • -1

None of the items are sold out. Instead of the seller being grateful of all the attention from OzBargain, they chose to increase their prices.

      • Quite often merchants sell at or below cost just to get activity for their store as people will be more likely revisit them at a later stage and buy something else. It has nothing to do with not being grateful as they will often come back and post more deals. I see it as win win for everyone as they get more people looking and some lucky ozbargainers get a good deal you just need to be quick.
