Great find thanks mate! Love this shop!

Kinda feel guilty going to Rebel sport, trying on the shoes, then going home and placing an order on Eastbay. Then I remember I just save $100-odd (including shipping!) and the guilt has disappeared.

    • Yeah, even with shipping I've saved $100+ 4 times on shoes, thats $400+ saved.

I'd like to buy some more shoes but money is a bit tight this time around, maybe next time they have 20% off again I will.

Try them on at Foot Locker, that's who you're buying the shoes from.

    • NBA Store also has some bargains 40% off, only on selected shoes though… http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/123726

Awesome was just about to buy some free runs as well, thanks op!

  • Dammmn they dont ship Asics Noosa Tri 8's to Australia!!

    • might be worthwhile using a forwarding service like vpost: http://au.vpost.com/ (15% off first shipment)

    • Check out ComGateway for getting around that :)

Thanks for the code. It's a shame the postage is so high these days ($40 minimum). I ended up buying an extra pair of shoes just because the minimum postage price was so high. I just bought 3 things.

    Item 1 $19.99

    Item 2 $59.99

    Item 3 $59.99

    Subtotal:$139.97
    Shipping & Handling: $39.99
    Discounts: $27.99
    Total: $151.97

Retail price in Australia probably would have been over $320.

  • Shipping for my last order was really quick. Ordered on Sunday and received on Friday morning the same week! 6 day turn-around is pretty good from the US. I also received handy email notifications throughout the shipping process from DHL.

Bought 3 pairs of shoes for the family to make delivery more worth while. Good prices and quick turn-around. My only slight criticism is that the east-bay self-branded clothing is fairly cheap quality but that is reflected in the prices. Cheap quality material and not very well made. You're better off sticking with the branded stuff in my opinion

    • I bought 2 pairs of shorts. Haven't got them yet but it seems like you get what you pay for.

  • Thanks for posting this..

Does anyone know how the Nike shorts are measured??

I keep seeing like 11" or 10" etc.

Does this mean the measurement from the crouch to the bottom of the shorts (knee)???

    Thanks

  • how long do they take to pack and ship? which carrier and how long to get here? Sorry just looking to get it for a friend who is leaving next week.

    • I ordered on Monday night. It was shipped on Thursday. The package is in Sydney now but not with driver yet. The carrier is UPS.

    • See post above. About a week.

  • Anyway to get shipping a bit cheaper? I'm looking at $42 for shipping which seems a bit expensive. I don't mind waiting if they can ship it using a slower method.

    • You can use a forwarding service like http://www.shipito.com/ or http://www.priceusa.com.au/

      • the price estimate for price usa is even more expensive…

        economy+tracking (priority mail) 5 lbs • US$ 73.52

        that's based on a box (29.5cm x 18cm x 9.5cm) in size and 2kg weight. Can't be right?

that's my biggest gripe with eastbay…no cheaper shipping option

  • Any good recommendations for running shoes around $100? There are too many choices

    Heads Up!!

Don't check-out with PayPal.. Their exchange rate sucks =(

    1 AUD = 0.909300 USD

I didn't realise until it had gone through lol

    • can't you pay in USD with a 28 degrees linked to paypal? - this is what I want to do.

    • paypal's exchange rate has always sucked. any credit card's rate is much better

      • But don't you need to pay a conversion rate fee if you use a credit card instead of Paypal?

        • yes but even with the commission it works out cheaper.

i know this because when i'm in paypal checkout, it always wants to use their rates and it will show you a preview. i keep a note of this, then change to using my card's rates and when the transaction + forex fee shows up in my card's transaction history, it's much less than what the paypal amount would be.

that said, if there's a huge currency slide, paypal's rates win. but how often does that happen?

        • When you pay by paypal, you can actually select your credit card as an option instead of using the default payment option.

    • You can cancel the order by doing Live Chat with them if they haven't processed the order then place it again with credit card. Their Chat Line opens at 8am Central Time that is 12am Sydney time. Their Chat Operators are usually very helpful.

  • Hey guys just a question,
do you think retail stores in America (specifically Hawaii where I'm going at the end of the year) will have similar prices to Eastbay? I don't really have an urgent need for new casual shoes so I don't mind waiting as shipping costs are quite high.

    • I would try and find out what shoe/sporting stores are around where you will be visiting and then look at the websites. They probably have FootLocker and some others so that might be 1 way to start comparing prices.

    • Hi - I just got back from a week in Hawaii (Waikiki), and my tip for sporting stuff / shoes would be to wait until you get there.

Best place to buy would be to go to Waikele Premium Outlet mall (http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=29) and buy from the Converse, Adidas, Vans stores. As a family we saved over $300 on about 10 pairs of shoes just from these 3 shops - e.g. converse low rise chuck taylors for about $25 USD (versus ~$50 here), kids Vans shoes for ~$40USD (versus $80+ here) and so on. There was also a Sketcher store (where most shoes were about half the price of here) and a sporting shoe place called 'Famous Footwear Outlet', which stocked ASICS, Nike etc but with a limited range. Also, don't forget to get a coupon book from the info desk at the mall, where you get discounts off the discounts!!

FYI - there is Footlocker on the main street, where shoes were the same price as Eastbay with a much smaller range. Here you save on the postage (but will to have to ship it back yourself).

      GL, and start saving …

    • Outlet stores have similar prices but the range is sometimes limited.
