Not as big of a battery but a muchhhh better chipset (RK3188) for 20$ more delivered. Cube isn't a bad brand either they've been around for quite awhile and even supply firmware updates on their website. Unfortunately more limited warranty compared to buying with these guys (I'd assume). This is still not a bad deal though, on par with chinatab prices with the same chipset and specs from a reputable brand and local stock.

Sorry for thinking soy sauce when I read your name.

    • I would recommend this one as well.
I have the acer and let's just say the build quality sux. The plastic back cracked just from placing it on the table. And it's also really hard to root with a locked bootloader.

The cash back is a huge hassle to claim. You have you cut the barcode off the box and mail it in within 7 days of purchasing. I still haven't not receive it yet after 2 months

      • Geez 2 months and still no $29 cashback? Lol, hmm. I hate cashback offers because of their usual hassles, but this is very tempting

  • I bought one of these a while ago. Great tablet for games and ebooks!
Not a tablet for the modders as it has a locked bootloader, therefore no custom recovery.
Can be rooted - search xda for "a1-810"

  • Hows battery life on this unit?

I have 1 of these … very very happy with it.

  • Shipping cost no more than $15. Good deal only if people need one. :)

  • Do I really need another one of these tablets?

  • Thinking of getting one for uni, any recommendations for case with keyboard?

Luckily i bought one last time when they had a better deal. $70 (after $29 cash back) + shipping.
A good tablet. The only issue that i have is when I plug in earphone i could hear static noises. I dont know if it's my earphones or not… most prob not. I tried 2 different sets of earphones provided by galaxy s3 and s4 but gave the static noises when plugged into this tablet.

    • might be something to do with the in-line mic? not sure.. maybe try headphones without one see how it goes.

    • i had the same issue… volume low through the headphones, and some static clicking noise…

ended up emailing tech support, and got pre-paid aust post label to send back for repair under warranty.. (havent sent it off yet)

    • Try updating its firmware (if any), I used to have a nokia that had lots of problem, but it was better after firmware update.

Acer + Android + MediaTek cpu totally turn me off. But still, it's a bargain.

  • so no cameras

    • +1

      It has 2 cameras:
The Acer Iconia A1-810 has a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera that captures full HD 1080p video at 30fps, and a front facing VGA camera that handles video calls. Both cameras are ordinary, particularly the rear snapper. It captures photos that suffer from high levels of image noise, poor colour reproduction and a general lack of fine detail. It's also a fixed focus lens, so macro shots aren't possible.

    • Both cameras are so crap. May as well not having them….

  • So pissed off i didn't check ozbargain last night, was going to pick one of these up for the gf's mum :(

  • The price keeps dropping. The price tag on my box from JBHiFi is $246. (Not that I paid that much)

    • Everything depreciates in value over time especially technology (rapid rate). Its already outdated before you've even taken it home. So anything you buy in future, consider & weigh up if you really need it.

  • Deals is back on till 7am 11/11. Unfortunate if you see this after its expired again (if you wanted one that is).
