Myer Super Saturday 09/11/2013

590

Hi guys,
Here is the super Saturday flyer at Myer for the 9th of November. Pretty self explanatory, sorry for the photo, was taken on my phone.

For me the best deals would be 20% of TV's, 40% off Business shirts, 45% off bedding and more.
Definitely something for everyone if you can find a staff member to serve you ;)

Yeah, was going to just say go to the link but I hate it when people do that to me and I'm usually too lazy to go to the link so I decided to copy and paste it lol.

Wasn't expecting it to be that long though, looked pretty small on the website.

Oh well. Going to buy some steak knives from there for a Christmas pressie for my sister in law as well as some plates and bowls that are also on the regular 'until 15 Nov' sale.

        Regards
        Daniel

      • As OP said, something for everyone

    • +1

Your praise makes me want to see this pic now :p

  • You've got to be joking!!! I just bought a pair of G-Star jeans this afternoon and see they will be 25% off tomorrow! Anyone know if Myer will refund the difference (have receipt and tags still on).

  • +4

Lol, it feels like Myer always have a sale on Saturday's called 'Super Saturday - 1 day sale'!

  • First time I've noticed the 10% off Weber and accessories.
Have they always had that as part of their Super Saturday sales?

  • Does anyone know if calvin klein underwear at myer is cheap after the price reduction?

    • -1

      lol.

    • +8

Just do what I do, get cheap underwear from target, then with permanent marker write calvin klein on them, it works pretty good.

  • +8

Lol Please do not litter at the bottom of the PDF

I promise I'll put it in the Recycle Bin

  • -6

I looked at the pdf and all the posts and I am still none the wiser about what specific item is cheaper than elsewhere ?!?!?

    • +5

Exactly, just another Myer sale that brings some very average stuff down from being astonishingly expensive to just pricey.

    • +1

Just about every Myer exclusive product in the Catalogue as you can't buy it anywhere else.

I get so many deals and stuff from Myer now it is amazing. 87.5% off, 80% off outdoor furniture at one point (kicking myself that I didn't buy more) and 30% off toys are just some of the deals I have experienced. I got beyblades at $2.50 each a nice vase for $4.

I'm OK with people thinking MYER is a ripoff as it means more bargains and variety for me ;)

      • -1

I didn't say Myer was always a rip-off (I have got deals there in the past too) I just can't see a specific bargain in this post because no-one has pointed one out…

And if it is an exclusive product, I guess you could rightly argue it is a bargain no matter what price they sell it for ;-)

        • -1

There is some 50% off already reduced stuff online. Sadly it seems Mitch Dowd 2 for $40 doesn't stack with 40% off. I'll see what else I can find…

  • +3

Sorry Myer, but I was in your store last weekend looking to buy 3 Van Heusen business shirts, but they were $69.99 each.

I came home onto my computer and ordered them from themensshop.com.au with free shipping to my home and $20 off for my first order. Even without the $20 off they were $33.33 each if I ordered 3 or more.

Wonder why Myer and DJ always complain that consumers aren't spending and we need a Gerry Harvey tax (import tax) on everything.

And no, I didn't get "slim fit" like Myer have on special.

Thank you The Mens Shop. You obviously have men in mind, not Myer.

Edit: Due to the logistics, it took 5 days to get here. Monday this week it was picked up from NSW, Friday today it was delivered across the Nullabor to Perth. Thanks but no thanks Myer. Gotta be happy with thaaat.

    • +1

I bought 3 Van Heusen business shirts for $100 at Myer Castle Hill, NSW, last week, they had them on sale.

    • They were $24.50 not long ago. $35 each then 30% off the discounted price.

    • +4

Bricks and mortar stores are for people who like to walk in, touch, feel, try on for size their clothes. If you did this at myer and bought online you simply did what most online shoppers did, you took advantage of what is offered free and used that experience to make ur decision to buy else where.

If everyone was like you, which lots of people are turning, bricks and mortar will start closing, which they have, and then next time there is a new brand, new sizing and you only have ur online store, you will have no choice but to buy blind and risk the need to return post stuff that doesn't fit or doesn't feel the way it looked on the screen.

    • Your point is?

HN JB DJ's and almost every store has regular priced stock.

Thats what we have OZB for so that you buy when its a special.

Plus every now and again someone has something cheaper - its called competition. If one store always sold for less than another we would just go there….

      • +2

Price isn't the only things stores compete on.

Although most Ozbargainers would probably disagree.

Cloudy's point is it cost more money to operate a bricks and mortar store where people can come in to touch, feel, try on for size etc. But you go in and see clothing before buying, then giving profits to the online stores that don't have to pay to keep a shopfront. Logical conclusion is if everyone does that, bricks and mortar stores close and no one gets to try on clothes anymore and you're reduced to buying stuff blind online.

Although of course that can be remedied to some degree as well (Amazon US will allow us customers to buy/try/return free of charge for example, but we don't have that here. And you still have to deal with waiting a decent period of time just to try something on).

        • The problem in this case is The Men's Shop that the OP purchased from also has physical retail stores. As such we aren't comparing online vs offline exclusive retailers, but rather the prices of two companies that both have physical and retail outlets.

  • The Sony 3D 42 inch 100Hz TV is tempting at $879

  • Looks like DJ's is trying to match the sale but their website link is failing at the moment.

  • anyone knows if myer sells 5d mark iii or 6d?

    • The one in Perth does, but I seem to recall the prices were astronomical for both. Saying that, the 15% along with current Canon Cashback might make it less eye-watering!

      • Ha, saying that I'm in there now and they've mysteriously removed all sign of them. The cynical side of me says that's very convenient for them today!!

  • $9.50 for this kids watch is pretty good - though the delivery fee kills it.

    • The clearance price is $19.00 and there are no further discounts on already discounted/clearance sale items.

      • Actually it says " take a further 50% off already reduced womens, mens and childrens clothing and fashion accessories."
Hence $9.50 - as it comes up in the checkout.

  • Went in early and my wife bagged a heap of kids clothes. Thanks.

  • cool, they finally discounting pleasure state again. Time to stock up on that for my wife.

  • these sales always a waste of time IMO

  • Finally bit the bullet and got a Panasonic 65VT60 for $2940 at Myer inc delivery.
