LOL you get all the positives and I get all the negatives for the same comment.

        • I've seen at least 5 p plater driving Der Neue Golf 7 TSI…in Melb

  • I have a Series 3 370Z. I got it in 2011 for $63K. The reason they want to get rid of stock is the successor to the 370 has been announced and it will probably be out sometime next year. A friend bought a new Series 2 for 55K when it was the outgoing model. So you could probably bargain down to 55K. Fuel average is about 15L / 100 KM / 98RON.

    • New Z will be released 2015.. assuming it follows the Z33 length..

      2003-2009 Z33

      2009-2015 Z34

      2015* Z35

    • +1

Sometime next year? Keep dreaming lol, hasnt even been revealed yet… More like 2015 at the earliest

  • :( this is the car i actually want but the sale can not lure me into another debt :( as tempting as it is.

  • -5

    I didn't qualify
    Penis > 4 inches

    • +13

ah I'm sure they'll make an exception seeing as you're only over by .2

      • -3

No they won't make exceptions, If you get it for me I'll slip you $500

        • You could park yours on the back seat.

  • -6

It's not a bargain - the RRP is $56,930 so $60k on-road is not a "bargain". Why don't we list every car that's being offered drive-away on this site, then? Basically all they're doing is reducing the "dealer delivery" (cough) charge. Gets a negative vote from me.

    • -2

I don't know how you got 57k. When running my quote, I got 62k as the lowest.
Either way, 2k "offer" isn't even close to 13k off.

      • +1

        The prices were announced today:

        http://www.caradvice.com.au/259806/nissan-370z-cut-to-59990-…

Anyway, funny how as soon as I cast a negative vote, 3 others jump on the wagon and do the same. Why are people always so scared to throw the first stone?

        • Most people are scared of life in general, let alone standing up and backing themselves in against the grain. Most on here are geeks, as are the mods. But I guess you knew that.

I got my Neg revoked from the Aurion deal page for no other reason than I was the first person to do it, now there's several negs it's left as is. I had a good reason too.

So.. In general, people are idiots.

  • -6

I agree with the above posters' math - this is no bargain.

  • +2

thanks op! there goes another car i will never use. oh well.. wait, i dont have a car.

  • +1

Owned a 370Z for 18 months. Great car to drive, but a hopeless car for daily duty. I also missed not having turbo boost.

  • +7

If only I didn't buy the Eneloops, I'd be all over this.

    • +2

You spent $60,000 on Eneloops? I thought they were good!

      • +1

you really don't want to know mate… thats a bridge too far….

  • I'd rather to drive a GTS 86 at great price. The road laws are everywhere. Hoonies must be stopped!

    • +1

So I shouldnt go stage 3 on my S4 then?

  • Sorry folks, it is out of stock.

  • +1

When will Aus ever get accessories that actually gives more power to the car, was hoping to find the + Twin Turbo kit but sadly all I see is an iPhone cable, storage bag and carpet.

BTW I see on car sales

    2013 model going for $49,990 : http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Nissan-370Z-2013/…

    AND

    NEW! $52,480 - http://www.carsales.com.au/demo/details/Nissan-370Z-2013/AGC…

Good time to by if ever I saw a sale :)

Can someone lend me $50k? hahaha XD

  • -2

    Almost $13,000 off

lol. Only a wood duck would pay $73K for one of these things. And as the neg posters have mentioned above, this is no bargain.

    • Wood duck LOL Thats a blast from the past!

      • And it would seem that we have 3 wood ducks here already! ;)

  • +1

    Further to my post, I spotted this;

    http://theage.drive.com.au/motor-news/nissan-slashes-price-o…

So really, if Nissan has dropped the price of these substantially, effectively you should be able to negotiate one for around $56K-$58K driveaway.

For anyone that buys one of these, enjoy the hideously steep decline in resale value.

    • the decline wouldn't be as bad as an ordinary model of the luxury brands… most of the time the dealers had a bench to get the customers to lean over.

  • +1

Today I saw Mitsubishi Evolution X, brand new, for the same price, $59,990.

  • All SOLD OUT….damn missed it this time:)

    • +1

      Ozbargained?

      • +1

        lol, HTTP 404!!!

  • +2

What's with all this 666 in the prices… don't give me cause this is one hell of a bargain bs as well…

  • Love the comments here, still happy with my paid off Evo IX but the 370's are pretty sexy. It's funny to see guy's reactions when they see a chick driving an Evo lol

    • -1

      EVO IXs ftw.

      • Chick ftw.

        FTFY

    • Evo = Animal. Will give you a run in my S4 though :P

    • +1

wait till you see a chick drifting one. heh.

    • We always think it's ur man's ;-)

    • Evo X = by far the ugliest Evo produced. Evo IX and 8MR FTW!!!
Screw the Evo X's, they are the reason the Evos were killed off :) Well atleast thats what I tell myself

      • +1

        Agreed.

      • +1

Aww… you hurt my EVO X's feelings :-( It's going to need a bit of massaging now.

FWIW I bought it to suit my needs and I couldn't care less what people think of my car. Had it new since 2009 at the time it was the only decent sporty car at that budget that had a twin clutch gear box so that my wife can also drive it.

Considered the STi but had to pass it (can't remember if it was available with an auto at the time-previously when it was, it was always a torque converter type and always detuned). I also did have a 2007 WRX for 7 yrs.

I knew the STi would be slightly faster on a track but even on track days the gaps would be more dependent on the driver than the car.

BTW if you are a real car enthusiast, you would not knock the 86. Not everything is about straight line speed. I would know because the car I had before the EVO X was a car that most people would laugh at but only those who have driven one would understand - the MX-5 (NC). Down QLD Raceway straights you do wish for more power but on a tighter track like Lakeside - it's just so much fun through the corners. And the 6 speed gearbox on that was just a joy (actually I don't know if the 370Z syncrorev would be what I want-blipping the throttle heel and toeing around corners was so much fun I rather have a car without one). Why do most journalist when doing BFYB rate the MX-5 up the top of the their choices when the performance numbers always push it down the ladder.

Cheers everyone - no matter what car you drive.

        • +1

Synchro rev CAN be turned off with a push of a button lol.

My first car was an old NB(p plate days) and arguably the best MX5 among MX5 enthusiasts(subjective), reason for purchase was because it was cheap as chips and handles like it was on rails. Got off p plates and couldnt ditch it soon enough, yes they handle great and only second to the Lotus but when my mother's Accord Euro was faster I just loled… There is a fine line between power and handling, and sadly the MX5 is missing one substantially. Thats why if I had money now I'd buy an Exige S or Elise SC, perfect compromise :)

        • +1 for the hairdressers car. it's one of the few cars i would want to own if i had unlimited money and garage space (and not have a chidseat requirement).

        • -1

          Hello fellow ex mx5 er,

if the synchrorev can be turned off, it would be a great feature, but i would only turn it on in stop start traffic.

re mx5's lack of power. I think it's adequate for the road. You only found yourself wishing for more on the track, or against other cars. If you only drive it against yourself, or the clock, i think it's fine. You can always get more with aftermarket turbo/super charging. My younger brother's NA is turbocharged and accelerates as fast as my EVO but unfortunately suffers from inadequate cooling so can only do one lap at a time. For him though it's fine for street use.

i have test driven an accord euro and would never choose it over the mx 5. Would have kept it longer than the one year that i had it except for the extra deduction incentive back then for new cars, which made my EVOX cheaper by 25% (also had to stick as close to as possible the LCT ceiling). Only problem if i had kept the mx5 would be that i wouldn't be able to drive my 3 yo to day care in the morning without a babyseat as i do now in my EVO X. Still I miss the convertible experience. It's something that I think everyone should experience once in their life.

I also would not describe the MX 5 as a car that handles like it's on rails. I'd say that it's one of the most adjustable cars that you can drive.

          Cheers.

        • Just read your comment after posting mine below.

It's funny as I was thinking only a few weeks ago about removing the rear baby seat before starting my laps around QLD Raceway but decided that it wasn't heavy enough to warrant it :-)

Maybe next time for passenger laps, I'll strap her in :-)))

          Cheers.

        • Hey x d,

does your bro already have an aluminium radiator + oil cooler yet? Maybe he can simply remedy that with those things first. Maybe try lowering the coolant concentration as well.

I thought the evo lapped quicker times than the STi (modded as well). When I bought mine I thought STi was one of the most practical sports car out there with so much room in the boot and seats, I even saw someone who put a baby seat in it!

I came from a DC2R that had all the good bits in it so I know all about being underpowered but still how good it can be, I still don't like the GT86, give me a DC2R anyday. But after I sold mine I saw lots of trashed up dc2rs going around as they became more affordable for the P platers. I heard that the 86 can be boosted by some but as the fa20 can take quite a bit of boost before you start throwing some rods so maybe that might be a game changer.

These raw cars are completely different to what they are nowadays. When I first got the STi it was a downgrade of the DC2R in terms of handling from the getgo, only thing that was better was the power and the awd but as she sits it'll easily eat my dc2r.

        • Hii RtN,

My brother bought it second hand and was already modded. He knows it needed improvement on the cooling but does not want to throw more money into it and is happy to enjoy the power in short burst which is ideal for a road car.

I think all comparos found that the EVOX even though a great handler, has just gotten too heavy and thus lost the performance edge compared to the IX, as well as to the STi. It is arguably a better all round car that you can live with day to day compared to the IX. I wanted the IX but took a year off work to travel the world and by the time I got back, the IXs was no longer on sale. Unlike others on here I like the look of the X compared to the IXs though I prefer the understated looks of the Euros more (eg previous M3s). Plus it offered the twin clutch box which is amazingly quick as well as great for stop start traffic. Pity similar tech is not available on the STi.

I do miss the classic burble of the Subaru's boxer though. No other turbo charged cars has decent exhaust noise GTRs included. The jet noise just doesn't do it for me. With the right exhaust, the boxer is just spine tingling.

The 86 was featured supercharged in a previous MOTORs article on aftermarket tuning (surprisingly with the standard NA's already high compression). I supposed that it would be ideal although reliability is on top of my work requirement, which is why my EVO is still stock (as well as for warranty purpose). BTW how much do you pay for your insurance if modded? I pay approx $900 per year for my EVO.

          Cheers.

        • Hi slowmo,

MX-5s are quite cheap to buy nowadays and once you no longer need a childseat, it would be a great choice. MX-5 clubs have big membership and I don't think you will find many who would be hairdressers :-) Admittedly most won't be 20 yr olds as the MX-5 still has an image issue but if you don't care about that, it would be a fantastic motoring experience. If you go to the club's trackdays (in QLD-they usually hold at least 4 per year), believe me the modded MX-5s goes like stink (due to their low weight-you don't need massive power to make good lap times). My stock EVO X can't hold a candle to some of the modded MX-5s that goes around QLD Raceways (I think the more modded ones lap the same times as a standard current GTR).

          Cheers.

        • Jesus $900 for comprehensive. I am paying $1900, no excess claimed ever, multi policy discount as well, all with NRMA. $700 for Green slip.

I only drive it after work on weeknights and weekends. Not a good return on investment for insurance but had to be done.

M3 E46 was surprisingly more expensive for a lower agreed-value as well.

        • Yes I pay only a small amount (with QBE-as a regular use car with a portion business use). RACQs or Suncorp I think would be more (from memory around $1500). That's with rating 1 but no other discount and online. I have not tried to find out how much it would be with modding (usually have to ring them up and not online) but will ask some of the other QLD EVO X owners.

I probably will continue to keep it stock however so it was only more for curiosity (well with the exception of a forced front rotor replacement to DBA4000s as the left stock Brembo disc suffered a circumferential crack during one of my track days, and the car had to be towed home :-( )

Running cost does appear high but really one needs to just ignore it as the biggest cost is the depreciation. I reckon after the 4 yrs that I had it, I have lost > $30000. But I am planning to hold on to it so it should be less each year from now.

BTW cars are never investments unless they are exotics and you don't plan to drive them at all. They are rewards for your hard work. The depreciation however does get to me and instead of getting an X5 as the other car, I have gone for a new Kia Sorento last year (laugh again if you want but these actually are not bad) but will go on luxury-ish holidays now every year :-)

          Cheers.

        • I might have a look around @ QBE, Allianz in the future then. Have always stuck with NRMA because they were competitively priced as one of the more readily insurers and they also cover modifications automatically and also other drivers who aren't listed. Have had good claims with them as well (not at fault, they paid for everything first and even chased the other guy for money).

Yeah cars are never a good investment but havent comlpained about that ever, just the insurance, green slip and rego part when I hardly drive it.

Got a quote from youi and it was $8,000+ premium. I just laughed, and they said I was getting a good deal at NRMA.

        • $8000 for insurance. Wow are they serious? They might as well put a policy in that they don't cover these cars instead of offering an amount when enquired.

As with anything, you do get what you pay for though. I have not gone for NRMA as they have always been more expensive (even though they forever advertise that they will beat any competitive priced premiums - which they never do even when you ring them up). In QLD, in my experience, the best service would come from Suncorp and RACQ so I'd go to them. Last time we had that major flood here, only those 2 (and I think Commbank) came out with a good reputation.

Seriously if those 2 are only $100-200 more, I'd be happy to pay.

Only problem is that you shop online for the cheapest price, be prepared to change companies almost every year as they seem to offer a good price for the first year and increase them dramatically the next year. But a lot of companies online would halt the process once you declare that the car is modified.

        • BYP DC2R — Time attack winner, beating everything from EVO IX, X, R34s, V8s…
          and it's still front-wheel drive.

        • @mcmonte problem is that you can't drift/slide well on a FF.

i know i might start another argument.. but yeah. I would prefer a FR over a FF… it's more fun.

        • Time attack /= drifting

Racing for best time doesn't involve deliberate loss of traction. Like most racing.

        • yes. which is why i said it's more fun with a FR. :)

        • Agreed that drifting is fun.

Four-wheel drift and lift-off oversteer is all my FWD can manage, but still good.
