    "NBN ready"? Isn't that like saying "internet ready"? Kind of what I would expect from a networking device. How is this more NBN ready than any other device?

      I believe it means that one of the network ports can be re-assigned as a wan port, effectively converting this into a (NBN/Ethernet) simple router, bypassing the ADSL modem.

      Because NBN is like a massive LAN whereas ADSL is just ADSL? Not all modems are NBN ready, needs WAN compatibility.

      Some modem/router can only pass limited bandwidth from WAN to LAN, say less than 100 Mb or even 50 Mb, which is more than enough for an adsl 2+ connection (max 24Mb), but will limit the speed of NBN.

    They extended the cashback! last time you had to make the purchase before 31/10/2013, and mail it in before 15/11/2013.

    Are they desperately trying to clear these units?

    having said that, I did buy one and it is a reliable unit. I live in a small apartment with many solid brick walls, and it reaches every corner. Can now lie in bed with my ipad :)

    what chipset is this? My adsl2+ got low syn speed due to long distance (~3.9km) from station. Is this a good modem/router in my situation?

      Depends on your provider. I'd reccomend Billion 7800N. You can fiddle around with the SNR on it to try and bump up your speed.

      You're pretty far from the exchange so you're probably SOL. I'm ~2km from exchange and the max I'll get is 1.1mb/s.

    Cons:
    The wireless range is really bad! I could be in the next room and wireless drops packets consistently.
