Wii U Super Mario 3D World $53.21 + $2 Postage Preorder + Other Deals from Blockbuster

120

Considering JB HiFi and EB Games have Super Mario for $79-80 pre-order, Beat the Bomb has it for $68.95 + postage, I think Blockbuster has a decent deal.

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze is $44.16 at BB compared to $79 from JB

Adventure Time for $33.96 at BB compared to $59 from JB and $69.95 from EB Games

I placed 3 items in my cart and it was free postage to Adelaide. Postage for 1 game was $2

*** I don't know what price stores like BigW etc will have these for when they come out and delivery is usually 2 weeks from BB ***

so is this a New Super Mario Bro's Wii U esque game? Is it just a newer version of it? o-O

EDIT: damn reminds me more of the Mario 64 game, multiplayer too. looks awesome!

  • Are blockbuster out of administration again?

  • It would be good to see what price Big W and Target put this at.

Currently if you want SM 3D World and DK at JB it's $158 if you pick it up in stores.

Or use BB and it's $99.37 delivered.

Downside is, you're waiting 2 weeks to receive. But that's $60 saving, and I'm sure everyone has a backlog of 100 games to play anyway.

  • how come it states $55.21?

    • Ah I meant the price is $55.21 before postage, of is postage free?

EzyDVD have it for $53.58, BB seems to include postage in price regardless.

    Buy DK as well, $97.56.

I just bought a Wii U and these prices seem mental, I'm use to Steam prices. I think I'll wait and buy them a year after release, hopefully dropping in price.

Where have you been since… the beginning of consoles? Steam is an outlier. It's the exception, not the rule. Why on Earth would you think prices for anything else would be the same as Steam when that has never been and continues to not be the case. And all of this could be found out by spending a second to glance at literally any retailer, too. I'm assuming you had contact with a retailer when you bought the Wii U itself, probably?

And don't expect prices to drop on Nintendo games very much. They're being put on sale more regularly but the savings are still not very much, even years after release.

      • I owned an XBox 360, I didn't pay these prices for those games. I'd buy from EB when they have those massive sales on, or I'd order from Online retailers. I don't think I paid more than $45 for an XBox game and most were a lot less.

Those low costs don't seem to exist for the Wii U, now come to think of it. Those EB sales didn't include the Wii let alone the Wii U. Bugger.

the thing with wii u games too is, the big games never really get much cheaper because even as pre owned, they sell pretty well…

and as an added bonus, when you buy the UK versions (like ezydvd/blockbuster supply) you get "normal" game cases, not the eco-box versions that australia gets

    • Nice, the eco-box's are trash!

  • Awesome, just ordered a copy (OzB spirit would not let me buy it on-console for $80 just to play it now!)

    • Does it really take 2 weeks?
Not sure if it's too late to get it for Christmas…
