Not sure if this is a good mouse but I found this while searching for a new laptop mouse. Amazon reviews seem good and the price is really cheap. Some complaints about phantom double-clicking but this could be isolated examples. Works on glass.
Cheapest on Staticice is $58.60. Ebay cheapest is $59.95.

Bought this on ebay for $50 a while ago and it is the best mouse I have ever used. Works on my glass table perfectly, highly recommend this one!

    • yep love my one of these.

  • Best mobile mouse ever!!

  • It IS a good mouse, my favorite actually.

Long battery life, works on everything, has a good number of buttons and so on - you can read the good stuff everywhere. Just to point out the only bad thing, which is a matter of personal preference: if you are used to using the wheel as a middle button - forget about it. It is actually a "clutch" that switches between smooth and not-smooth scrolling. The wheel is not and cannot be used as a middle button.

Awesome price BTW, got my first for close to $90 a while back…

    • you get used to this pretty quickly though…

after a year mine started flickering on the left click so instead of single clicking it double clicked and you can forget click and drag… it keeps letting go then I end up clicking something else… when I blow into the middle button it seems to fix it for an hour or so… seems to be a common problem with them though judging from forum posts…

I bought the extended warrantee (first one ever) from officeworks as it was only a few bux and I saved more than that by price matching the Logitech shop - however now I cant find the paper work :(

nice mouse when its working… worth the price++ no pos cause mine broke though :(

I agree, this is a great mouse. I'm using this mouse with my HTPC since I mainly use it on the couch, and haven't had any issues with it. It's a bit heavier than other mice which gives it a more solid, well built feeling.

The button just below the scroll wheel can be configured as the middle button, which doesn't take long to get used to.

Also to add on other cons, which might not be an issue for most, is that the new version of the m905 has a glossy feel, so it might make your hands sweaty if you're using it the whole day.

Great price, got this from Harvey Norman for $68. All other retailers were selling it for around $99 at the time.

      • If it feels too heavy try using just 1 battery. It makes a difference :)

    • I use the wheel as the middle click by setting the wheel to press sideways for middle button. It works beautifully and is even easier than pressing the top of the button like a normal mouse. I also set the rectangle button below the wheel to be page down and it makes for excellent lazy web surfing.

I love this mouse, it's my favourite ever. It's very hardy too, I have accidentally thrown it on the floor several dozen times and it still works perfectly.

That's also an option, for me left/right tilt of the wheel is CTRL+PgUp/CTRL+PgDn, awesome for switching between tabs ;)

      • I did a similar thing - I mapped the 'switcher' button which is directly under the mouse wheel to middle click. Couldn't live without it.

  • Perfect, just what I needed!

  • I've tried few Logitech mouse and I can say this one is the best. But for those who has big hands, this could be a bit too small for you

  • Does this take AA or AAA batteries?

    • +1

One or two AA. I always use two but it says it'll work with just one. Two gives it a nice weight.

      • cool thanks. means i can continue to use my eneloops in my mouse.

      • it takes 2 x AA
and it DOES work with only one battery! i never knew this until now… awesome

      • +1

Wow, close to 3 years using this mouse and I didn't know it also worked with just a single AA battery! I like the feel of 2 batteries though.

  • Great mouse, been using a few for years. Have 3 (PC, NAS, Work). The left-click on my first one went a bit iffy, wasn't a solid click, but the others are fine. Heaps of buttons, nice weight and the smooth scroll is great for long pages. Battery life is pretty good works with 1 or 2 batteries.

  • good one, i am using it. going to buy one more :)

    How about the performance MX?

Any experience? I'm tempted to give it a try, but not sure if the shape is going to be comfortable.

couldn't find anything on static ice in regards to price, but it seems the closest mouse is the M950, and the cheapest is $74

I have this mouse for my desktop. Best mouse ever! Very comfortable, never get wrist strain. But it is a chunky mouse. Too big for a laptop bag.

      • its ok, ill use it at home. my kids decided that dad's computer is a spare parts department, the little cheeky buggers took my mouse and used it, when i got back, i was left wondering where the f**k my mouse went :p

  • I went to try this mouse but I found it too small for my hand. For people with a bigger hand try the MX or this one:

I bought one for my laptop but fell in love with it so I am using it for the desktop too.

    • I use this at work. Great battery usage

  • Thanks AllWins for the prompt reply

  • Good mouse.. I use it with my laptop and the m950 for everyday use.
Pros: works on most surfaces, mobile, long battery life
Cons : it's a bit small for so not great for long use

It is a good mouse, but it suffers from a problem that seems to be very common based on my quick research.
After a while, you will start noticing that when you left click, you get unwanted double-click. This is very annoying and pretty much makes the mouse useless because you can't click, hold and drag.
Do a quick search and you will see many people complaining about it.
Mine has been good for about 11 months and started doing this.

    • +1

Exact same thing happened to mine. After a while I had to apply immense pressure to the left-click button to get it to recognise that I was holding the button down.

    • Same thing happened to me.

Went through 2 of them (the matte and the newer glossy version) before settling for a refund.

I paid about $50 at Officeworks which included 3 years warranty.

    • I've used mine (matte version) for roughly a year and so good so far. However, I've only used it with my laptop at uni and honestly that doesn't amount to that much usage. Haven't had to replace the batteries yet and have not yet experienced any clicking problems.

I do like the weighty-ness of it though. Probably cause all of my desktop mice are a bit on the heavier side. =)

    • I use an older model, the Logitech VX Nano, and this sounds like the same problem that I (and others) encountered after several months of use. Having said that, I've been otherwise very happy with the mouse.

  • Logitech make great mice. My preference is the Bluetooth model (if your PC has bluetooth). No dongle required. I think it was @$40-45 from Officeworks.

  • Thanks OP, was looking for a deal on this mouse. I got it 2.5 years ago for 100 bucks and it's the best one I've ever used, but lately mine has been having issues with double clicking (clicks twice on its own). Too many point click games :P

  • This is a fantastic mouse. Battery doesn't last as long as it was advertised by the OW guy when I first purchased mine (6 months), but it still survives from my usage for at least 1-2 months. I bought mine for 90 as well, so yes, for those who are on the fence this really is a good mouse.

  • Just got one for $60 from MSY. I should have known.

  • Check out the Cherry wireless mouse, we use these at work, excellent functional/feel mouse. One of the rare good IT decisions made here…

I think they go for $20-$30

  • I bought a few other items to go with this baby

    • FastCap HOD-DOUBLE Handle On Demand
    • Bosch DLR130K Digital Distance Measurer Kit $79.95
    • A few Bosch drill bits to bring the total to $100 to take advantage of the $25 off offer
  • While I love this mouse I will say that I have terrible interference with my wifi. This is a common issue with Logitech mice, which would be fine except that you can't change the channel on the mouse. Basically if I'm copying files over wifi the mouse stutters and is really frustrating to use. There is no fix sadly. If you use wired internet or have a strong wifi signal it shouldn't be a problem, but otherwise be warned.

  • For those buying, please be aware that Logitech does not have international warranty.

  • Think this has expired. Coming up as $42 US plus delivery and they won't ship to Auz.

  • I am using this mouse now, feel very good!
