    • -1

      Yes. Discounted

Any good for building a 24/7 minecraft server?

    • -4

The higher end Xeon processors will have no problems running the server.

      • +1

You don't need the top of the line to run mincecraft. OP is being abit misleading with that a simple processor would handle it ok. Dependso n how many people and how much stuff you want to blow up but again OP is just trying to move old stock here

  • +5

No offence but this is advertising from the seller. These chips are old 2+ years

Do yourself a favour if your spending top dollar buy socket 2011 and get soemthing newer:

    http://ark.intel.com/products/64593/

Which can be had for $500-$650 depending on whether you order from the states or keep it local

The price the OP is selling them for was what thye were cleared at about a year ago he is simply trying to make a small profit to move old stock

There's even newer chips that out perform these so do some research

    • Yes. We are clearing old stock. Please contact us if you are interested in any products.

  • Are these prices any good people ?

    • Yes, 2 years ago.

But for today'a price? Not even close. Refer to BenMharvey's comments, he is spot on

  • Sorry rep, I don't really see the value here.

  • Yeah, I have a 1366 board, and don't see the value here either. I think you might have a hard time moving them at those prices.

I have a 1366 board with a 920 in it, no plans at all for upgrading without there being a serious bargain.
    I would buy the X5675 for $100.

  • Intel i7 4930k which is a current gen (haswell) processor benchmarks much better than the Xeon X5675 and X5670 whihc are $850 and $750 respectively here, yet the 4930k can be had for $659 ($100-200 less) e.g. here http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&p…

    Benchmarks:
    4930k score = 13278 - http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i7-4930K+…
    X5675 score = 8630 - http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Xeon+X5675+%40…
    X5670 score = 8457 - http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Xeon+X5670+%40…

More than 1 and a half times increase in performance, and you'll find similar stats if comparing the other processors in this deal to current gen tech.
