Sennheiser CXC 700 Noise Cancelling Earphones - $100 @ David Jones Chatswood

300

Seems to be a good price. RRP was $370, look to be $250+ average price online. Not sure if it is at all DJ's stores or just Chatswood. But there was plenty of stock.

  • Why does that have a DSE price tag in the image?

DSE has taken over the electronics sid of djs

    • DSE runs the electronics section in all DJ's now.

    • +2

As others have said, DSE now run the DJ's electronics section. This means price matching between the 2 stores (I just price matched the DSE sony headphone deal at DJ's).

      • DSE take care of the electronics section now

        :P

        • Ahh, thanks for that Trumpedup. Wasn't sure if the op got his stores mixed up.

    • DSE. DJ. Electronics.

    PC Mag says:

    PROS
Excellent audio performance, bass response. Quality active noise reduction. Outputs audio even when noise cancellation isn’t activated, with almost no difference in audio quality. Includes “Talk Through” option and three different noise reduction modes.
    CONS
Battery compartment is bulky/awkward. Uses triple-A battery instead of rechargeable option.
    BOTTOM LINE
Sennheiser makes earphones for the serious listener, and the CXC 700's audio performance and noise cancellation are both superb—but the design won’t suit everyone.

    Untrusted Reviews says:

    Verdict
The Sennheiser CXC 700 active noise cancelling earphones are a "nearly, but not quite" effort from the headphone king. Noise cancellation is decent and they get closer to sounding high-end than the most ANC pairs, but a misjudged treble hump introduces frequent sibilance and the graceless control housing doesn't cut it at this price. 6/10

    Amazon reviews say:

3.5 out of 5 stars (quite low)

but the review is really skewed to the price point being $369.95

    • Really? 70% of a possible 100% is a low score?

  • The $370 RRP for these in Australia seems to be vastly inflated — these typically sell for about US$130 in the US: http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-Active-Noise-Canceling-Ear-…

While this is probably an OK deal, I wouldn't buy this expecting $370 worth of headphone quality. :)

Great price, I bought these for $138.74 delivered in August: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/113520

Excellent build quality, variable noise cancellation from none to maximum with an instant "talk-through button" for when you need to hear something briefly, and they come with a nice carrying case, triple-A battery and earbud adapters.

  • If anyone finds any in Perth I'd be interested - tried Garden City but their electronics is limited

    • Did they not have them there? Interested in a pair

  • Does this mean regular DSE will have same prices, if DSE run inside DJ ?

    • Not sure that regular DSE stock this product in particular - however I believe that DSE will price match without a hitch.

I just got a pair from the Brisbane City Store. It wasn't marked but I asked the guy to scan it to see how much it was and it came up for $99.95

  • Chatswood only have 5 in stock accordng to their system. 2 at Bondi, 1 Market st

  • Don't forget for AMEX people, you can get $30 credit if you spend over $150. For me I found it by logging in online and looking under "Offers & Places"

  • How do these compare with these http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/97383 TDK ones..

  • Haven't had any luck finding these at this price in SA.
