Dell up to 30% off Monitors 3 Day Sale (Monitors and Projectors) - U2713HM @ $580, U3014 @ $1252

111

HI all,

So i've been trolling the dell website recently looking to score on the U2713HM. Technically this is more expensive compared to a previous deal of $559 for the U2713HM. But the RRP for the monitor also went up abit so (from $799 to $829) so i guess the new sales price is higher.

I'm gonna speak with a rep and see if i can get it for the price of $559.

Btw, for those of you that say get the U2713H instead of the HM. Apparently, and correct me if i'm wrong, but consumer GPUs can not produce 10-bit colour according to most forums i visit, Also if you are a gamer like myself, you do not want the overdrive feature from the H so HM is the better choice for us according to others online.

Anyway, a early merry christmas and happy bargain hunting!

  • mfw IT gear price goes up

    • well the AUD has depreciated almost 5% in the last 2 weeks, so yes it is possible for the price to go up $30 which is about 5%

    Trolling or trawling?

    • lol iono… i was trying to be cool alright T-T

  • Hey OP,

Any luck with the $559 price? So tempted!

    • Nah i actually knew about this deal last week when i contacted the sales rep at dell… they told me to contact them today and i have sent them an email.. just waiting on their reply

      • Thanks OP. I changed my mind anyways. Going to get a 144hz monitor instead. Better for Gaming :)

Rumor has it that G-sync will be ASUS exclusive for the first half of the year so if you're interested and have a nVidia card that would be a choice too. Or you can go for the catleaps or overlord monitors which are IPS and OC'able to ~120hz… using my mates one now and its 1440p too.

U can get many Dell monitors in retail much cheaper than Dell website when they are not on Discount.

The deals are sweet but not actually 30% off when you compare it to retail price.

    • OMG where? i've only ever seen them at $800+ with the exception of the recent mwave sale which was round $639 i think…

        • Those are usually refurbs though, and only 1 year warranty i believe…

      • Using 30" as an example, staticice shows U3014 lowest price is $1354. DELL discounted Price $1,252. so it is actually a 7.5% discount.

U2713HM staticice lowest 638.76, Dell discounted Price $580, 9% off.

U2413 staticice lowest 631.02, Dell discounted Price $580, 8% off.

        • Yeah i know, but nevertheless dell's 30% off is still cheaper then the lowest prices on staticice… so i'd prefer to buy from dell when the sales are on lol

      • Try staticice. Even Harris Technology sells some dell monitors cheaper than dell.

Hmm…. Ultra HD 3840 x 2160 so this is a 2K screen. I wonder what graphic card you need to drive this screen.

The new Mac pro with go perfect, a little upgrade BANG!!! You have a 10K workstation.

Next thing would be try to put all that on GE. LOL

      • FWIW, it's 4K, not 2K.

AMD likes to boast its latest graphics cards like the 290 and 290X will be able to handle it… but I don't think they handle it all that well (30FPS with everything maxed on BF4 with a 290X). Probably within the next two generations we'll be seeing it as a more viable option, if only still for the really high end graphics cards.

  • Is there any reasons why I would want a U2713H version instead of U2713HM?

    • +1

U2713H Covers 99% Adobe RGB, U2713HM only covers 99% sRGB.

If you do printing then you will need U2713H.

And if you don't understand a word that I said, then you don't even need the Ultrasharp series. There are cheaper panels that can do 2560 X 1440 like this one

      http://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-27-cinema-display-2560x144…

      • Coming from U2311H, I think U2713HM is the right update for me then.

      • Other difference also includes the 8-bit panel vs 10-bit (8-bit + FRC) panel, according to forums i read, only workstation cards can use the 10-bit.

  • So, i finally got in contact with the sales rep i talked to last week.

She actually didn't know the U2713HM was on sale today until i pointed it out to her, anyway, the price i worked out with her was for $574 so yeah. Don't know if you will be able to get the other reps to match it.

    Cheers

A rep quote me $574.5 (1% discount) after I said I already purchased 2 monitors from them. Oh well, 1 free McDonald meal for me.

  • I wonder if I go through Starthere, will Dell still honor my 3.6$ cash back.

The cash back?? That can fund 4 months of the interest free credit…..sweet!!

    • Apparently the GE money incurrs $6 a month or something according to my mum (owner of the GE money card) i personally don't use them so iono =/ Just an AMEX Qantas card and i'm good

  • It's not 30% off but UP TO 30% off sale. Only small number of monitors are at 30% off. Also, it looks like they increased their RRP for some monitors.

    • Yeah i mentioned the increased in RRP for the U2713HM, not too sure about the others thought.

Anyway updated the up to 30%, cheers
