    • I wouldn't be surprised if the orders were all cancelled for that reason.

let me know what i need to fix up

You don't have let us know that it is your first post. The Yellow 'L' tells us that.
Learning the markup for links can make the post easier to read.
Keeping the chatter to later in the description means that people don't see it in the summary view when they are trying to determine whether to click through for more info on your deal.

  • +3

Worked for me. Must access previous deal first.

    • -1

A '+' would be nice then to show your support.

      • +1

getting there!… had to make sure it worked first!

  • Again, good wine for very cheap BUT please be aware that by purchasing from these guys you agree to them automatically extracting $40 each month to be part of their club. Becoming an 'Angel' is something else on top of that. Getting out of the agreement isn't difficult but it can be quite involved and definitely isn't a simple one-click thing.

Just be careful! If you are careful or if you don't mind the $40 or so taken from your account each month then yeah you'll be happy.

    • Just click the big red "No, I've already got enough money" button after check-out, when they offer the $50 voucher.

Yes, the $40 charge is hidden very well in the very small print. And who would not want another $50 voucher…

Rather aggressive marketing tactics I would say. Not feeling bad about getting some wine from them for very cheap - if they honour the deal that is.

  • $15 delivery to perth

  • Can you not agree to join Angel in the first place?

    • i agreed to join and then cancelled immediately.

  • +3

Ordered, then turned off automatic payments inside Paypal.

    • damn, i put in my amex :~(
need to ring up to cancel credit card detail

      • +4

you should be able to remove payment methods within your naked wines profile. and decline being an angel,

        • +1 I just did this ^

        • thx! it said ring up to remove credit detail before i cancel my angel account

      • +3

Yeah, I've taken advantage of offers from these guys three times. Twice via PayPal and another with my CCard. PayPal is easier to stop future payments as you do it via your PayPal account however if paid with a CCard you have to log into your NakedWines profile and change it from there.

Problem I have now is that I feel a bit guilty because the product actually isn't too bad for cheap stuff, the delivery is excellent and the company is made up of independent wine makers just giving it a go so I'm now considering joining up long-term and supporting them… but then again maybe not too ;)

  • Do you get charged $40 straight away or after 1 month

    • after 1 month, but it ask to give 3 months extension NO-CHARGE when I tried to cancel… But I still cancelled it

  • +1

    Nice… Made 2 orders !

    $9.99 12 Wines Delivered
    $0.94 6 Wines Delivered

Canceled "Angel" immediately after the order (No Charges Taken)!

    • How did you get the 6 for $0.94?

      • I've no idea… Bought the 1st order for $9.99 and declined to join the Angels, it then offered a $50 credit (and join Angels free for a month) in the order confirmation page.

Then bought another 6 wines for $50.94-$50(Free Delivery MEL).

And I try to cancel the Angels offer immediately after purchase, it then offered me to use Angels free for 3 months but didn't change my mind and I canceled. (But as ppl said, should keep the Angel until delivered)

  • Thanks Op!
Guys, who cancelled the account - where did you do it? just cannot find the button in the system to cancel my "minus 40 bucks per month":)

    • Got the same question over here.

Thanks OP! Hopefully they follow through with this deal.

    • +6

If cancelling agreement through PayPal: "Details" of purchase from your PayPal page —> "View Billing Agreement Details" —> "Cancel" agreement or something to those terms.

      • +1

        Thank you !! grovesy15 !!

    • +2

On their website go to "My account" then in the dropdown select "Angels Account" and there should be a link - "To cancel, just click here"

      • +1

It looks like I chose NO when they offered me free 50 bucks voucher and so there is no angel tab in my account. Hopefully I will not be charged then:)

      • I can't see anything related "angels account" after clicking my account, although I have removed from paypal authorisations, so still need to decline angel account?. Thanks.

Did you even read the description of the deal?

  • +1

Hiya - so cool to share this deal, but it's mixed wines & have to say that some of us drink red, white, sweet whites etc or just the one type, so would kinda only get a few bottles that I might drink and then think " who can I give this as a Christmas gift to?"……good deal for those that like a tipple in all varieties - cheers

  • I thought the $40 awas only debited if you signed up to be an angel. If you just purchase the case it is a one off payment. Can anyone confirm this or do i still have to cancel something? I'm about to hit order and have not seen anywhere that im agreeing to the $40 debit…

    • +1

      Hi
There is a request after placing the order. Then say " Don't want to join".

  • +1

Great deal, $4.99 delivery to ACT though.

  • +1

Got one. Great deal. Thanks OP!

  • Anyone having issues with paypal?

    • I did, switched to card and it worked.

    • the have error when I try to use amex

    • It might relate to having cancelled a paypal authorisation previously with them - I couldn't use paypal & I'm pretty sure that's why for me.

  • Insane, I just got 12 bottles of wine for $10 just in time for Christmas. Thank you! :)

    • I do feel bad about getting it so cheap, so Ill make sure to mention their website at Christmas when we're sipping their lovely wines. And if store reps are reading referral credits always a great idea :)

  • done, pay with paypal no problem. 18 bottle of wine is coming ! Delivery to South Brisbane is $4.99.

  • Bought the deal, then declined the offer to join the Angels, it then offered Angels free for a month and a $50 credit. Just scored another 6 bottles for ~$3. Will cancel the free Angels offer after the wine is delivered on Thursday. Paypal auth has been removed.

    • How did you remove the PayPal authentication?

      • You need to login to your paypal account and remove it there

      • +3

        Log into Paypal.

Click on "Profile" in the header menu, then select "My Money". At the bottom of the list you'll see "My pre-approved payments". Click on "Update". Click the "Merchant" name and then choose "Cancel"

  • sorry to ask this, I can't see the link which will take me to pinc me, I can see $50 vocher in my account. anyone please?

    • just click on the photo for this deal

  • -1

    Ordered :)

  • Ohhh Yeaaah reminds me of the cracka wines fiasco!
    Cheers OP, bought a case
:( $18.99 incld delivery to bundaberg
But still crazy cheaper price than low quality goonbag delivered, so gotztabe better value/taste!
Meanwhile my local DM (Dan Murphys) had belvedere intense 50%alc on clearance for $28 (usually $68.99)
So off the bandwagon officially till after the wines consumed!
    Thanks santa OP

    • Which DM? Mine appears to be out of stock and not on sale.

      • Bundaberg

  • Anyone else agreed to become an Angel and failed to checkout the 2nd time using the $50 voucher?
I tried adding a credit card because I have declined automatic payments using paypal.

    • click at no.

    • +2

Yeah, I had to add a credit card too, it logged in to my paypal but I think because I'd declined automatic payments to them previously then it didn't let me use my paypal. Bit annoying, but there is a page where they store your cc details (https://www.nakedwines.com.au/taster/YOURNAMEHERE/cards.htm) and I think I'll delete my card there.
Having said that, I think it's as easy as saying 'NO' when they ask and they don't charge the $40/month - at least from my previous experience.

      • Thank-you Seanbsydney,
That is the most useful comment I've ever read. I was getting nervous about getting charged $40.

  • +3

I feel bad for the independent wine makers and Naked Wines because so many 1-minute angels are playing with the system.

    • +1

Don't feel bad. Naked Wines know exactly what game they are playing. There are lots of people out there who will stay on as angels and spend $500 a year on wine that they never intended to buy.

Very aggressive marketing can sometimes backfire. This deal will be interesting to watch. Will they honour today's orders at all? Depends on whether our orders are just a blip on the radar or at the end of the night amount to a very substantial amount.

  • Thanks op.

  • As per other OZBargainers- I bought the deal and then tried to cancel the Angel. I was offered another $ 50 credit upon confirming my membership cancellation. I took the offer and used it to purchase another half a dozen of Tempranilo, Clarendon Shiraz, Moscato, etc. Total amount paid via paypal = $ 9.99 (first deal) + 5.69 (second deal) for 18 bottles of wines. Way the go, OP!!!

    • Be aware that the $50 they offer at that stage is linked to you becomeing an Angel - so they'll want to charge your credit card $40/month. That's in the small print…

  • If you accept the angel $50 credit deal you can use the $50 voucher on the pinchme deal again if you add 1 or more bottles of wine (cheapest price is ~$18 for 13 bottles)

  • Logged in (its been a while) just to say thanks for this. Hopefully they honour it. :)

  • "WARNING - You can't use your voucher against the case you picked. Your voucher will not be applied to this order."

Is it over, or am I doing something wrong? Claimed the coupon from the deal, created an account and tried to add this deal. Doesn't work :/

  • +2
    Methods been patched

"WARNING - You can't use your voucher against the case you picked. Your voucher will not be applied to this order."

  • Thanks for the code - managed to get it before the loophole was patched. Wonder if they're going to honour it

  • same message as previous post

  • there this still working, i've got the voucher in my account but it won't apply to the pinchme offer?

How do you cancel the paypal payment?

  • +2

I found a small work around for this. Add the cheapest bottle of wine, looks like $12.50, and it will apply the voucher to the whole order, totalling at $24~ + shipping. Forces you to buy 1 extra win but you are still saving and getting 13 bottles in total for $24 + shipping, not too shabby at all.

    • fantastic, that worked. Got the cheap deal from last night and this workaround means I now have two cases of wine for Christmas :)

  • 13 bottles for $27.47 including delivery within 3 days. Thanks Chinospot and Tempri

  • +1

Ordered a case of mixed $49.99 using the voucher. it arrived today and the bubbly tastes good. Reorder some more with this good deal and hopefully I can share it with friends at Christmas parties. thank op :)

  • paypal says:-
Please note that after cancelling a payment, subscription or automatic billing agreement, you are still required to pay the merchant for the goods or services you have received up until the cancellation is processed.

    • Wouldn't that just mean after the money for the wine is taken out of PayPal? At the moment mine still just says "Authorisation to" and no payment has been taken out of my bank account. I believe it will process once the wine is delivered hence the PayPal message saying "you are still required to pay the merchant for the goods or services you have received up until the cancellation is processed". Cancelling only stops future payments e.g. Angel membership.

I bought a case of wine through the Grays Online Auction site. $24 for a case of 12 + 15% buyers premium + $12 delivery = $39.60. And no faffing around with loyalty or membership programs.

  • +2

Great deal but as one of the user is pointing out Nakedwine is made out of various independent winemakers and it really isn't nice to exploit that… (though have no prob doing that to big name business) so hopefully some of us here who enjoy the wine will make purchases to help out small business.

    • +2

Naked is a big name multinational business. Check out their UK site for example: http://www.nakedwines.com/home.htm or their US site: http://us.nakedwines.com/home.htm

The first part of their business model is to buy wine from independent wine makers before it is made. That means they can get the wine at a very low price. It also justifies their claim that they 'fund independent wine makers'.

But they don't fund them in the sense of saying: "Here's a loan, go and create your dream winery". They fund them by saying: "We pay for the grapes and the bottles, you do the work. If everything works out you'll get paid for your labour when you deliver the wine to us". Nothing wrong with that, just sounds a bit different and tucks less on heart strings.

The second part of Naked's business model is to sell this wine to price conscious customers using some very elaborate marketing. The Angel program is at the core of that: they get money up front and people get locked into buying wines from them. Psychology is quite simple - once the money has been set aside for wine it will get spent on wine eventually. Hardly anyone will ever ask for their unspent cash back.

  • +1

It displayed as 9.99, but I was charged 59.99 !!!

  • so much for next day delivery

      • if ordered before 3pm
    • finally arrived but wrong wine was sent

  • Just had 1 case of wine delivered by FastWay.

    • yep, me too, 2 mins ago.
had 13 bottles in it. 10 solo plus a 3 pack.

      • +2

Are you sure - mine just arrived and has 12 + 3 free bottles! What a deal 15 bottles for $10!

        • Same here. Not sure where the extra 6 bottles are that I ordered. The site shows both orders are still being picked.

        • yep, i'm sure, i used all 10 of my fingers to get to ten, then added 3 for the 3-pack.

    • Just 1 for me too.

  • +2

Just received mine today and a surprise 3 pack for signing up as an angel. Going to cancel the angel account - so not sure if they're still going to deduct $40.

If the wine is good, I'll be back for sure. Impressed by the company, they know how to please

    • Solid deal! and def an ozbargain. I got 15 bottles for plus a bunch of vouchers. Considering delivery prob cost over $9, I think they are paying me to drink it. The wine aint bad either…

  • Same 15 bottles for $9.99!
    + another 6 bottles for $0.94!

  • the wine actually taste very good! love it!

  • Got 15 bottles for $15…Bargain of the month…Thanks OP..

  • Havent got mine delivered yet theres supposedly a delay with the delivery company cos theyve got so many orders. Was told when I emailed Naked Wines though I should expect it soon. Has anyone else had delays with their orders?

    • Haven't received mine yet either…

    • Just an update, there was a few issues with Fastway Couriers having supposedly attempted to deliver the case of wine twice and were supposed to have left a card saying they'd come etc but nothing. Anyway picked the wines up today and am extremely happy. They all look really nice and they also came with Xmas gift tags if you want to give them as gifts at Xmas which I was going to. So f4te and anyone else who has had issues with their orders if you contact them on [email protected] (I spoke to Max and he was very helpful) they should be able to clear the matter up for you reasonably quickly. And also a big +1 to Naked Wines thank you very much.

    • Also I dont know if anyone can help, but the Xmas gift tags included in my wine order have the deal posted above on the back of them. Its saying that the deals expired though, so does this mean if I give them as gifts the people wont be able to get the deal.

      • So update, I spoke to Naked Wines and they said theres no expiry on the deal posted above so it shouldnt be expired. They also mentioned it was only one voucher per customer. So I guess if OP could take expired off of the deal above that would be great cos it shouldnt be expired.

Edit: Deal with no expiry has been posted here - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/125336
