Thanks. would have missed this as well. Now trying to work out if I can use my Westfield goft card at Woolworths or Coles…

EDIT: Yep…"The Westfield Gift Card is the perfect gift as it’s accepted at 8,000 participating stores in Westfield Shopping Centres nationwide. Retailers include Woolworths Group, David Jones, JB Hi-Fi, Target, Kmart and Rebel Sport. They’re easy to use and make the ideal gift."

    • +1

My local coles in westfield rejected it before, but woolworths, even not in a westfield, happily accepted the westfield giftcard.

    • "The Westfield Gift Card is accepted at over 8,000 participating stores at Westfield Shopping Centres across Australia from department stores to fashion stores, cinemas , restaurants, book stores and much, much more! The Westfield XS Gift Card is accepted in and out of Westfield. In addition to the 8,000 participating stores at Westfield Shopping Centres across Australia, with the XS Gift Card you can shop anywhere EFTPOS is accepted nationwide. Acceptance is at the retailer’s discretion and some may choose not to accept the XS or Westfield Gift Card, this includes the Coles Group (with the exception of Target and Kmart) and Myer."

  • Bought another two, thanks OP.

  • Ah crap. I just bought one but forgot to apply FREEPOST. Called up to get it cancelled, but I don't think I will be able to get another Amex credit if I buy another one (or at least it's not worth the hassle of chasing up Amex for it for the sake of $7)

    • Sorry I didn't put the 'FREEPOST' on……..

  • +2

    I love Amex

  • Service fees per card $2.95

Just wondering is there a fee if you buy at the Westfield Concierge Desks or apply to online only?

    • +1

Both. In the other thread people confirmed that you still have to pay the fee if you front up at a concierge desk

      • Bloody annoying. I assume that as it is per card (as stated above) you can't just buy five off 5 AmEx cards and try to bunch it together somehow to pay a single fee.

Still, means I save $7.05 each time so hard to say no to that when you have five AmEx cards to mooch off.

        Daniel

  • If I get $50 westfield gift card and use it at David Jones Amex deal earlier

    Item cost $250 - $50 (amex dj cashback) - $10 (gift card) = $190

    24% discount

    • not clear how you get that, you have to spend $300 to get $60 credit

      • it would also appear less the service fees per card $2.95

        $302.95 to get $60

  • Is there a similar deal for Harvey Norman or Coles Express?

  • Just registered and bought one and then saw this… a bit concerned.

    C. Eligible Transactions
    Only valid transactions made:
    * after the date you register your Card; and

    • Did you receive an email from Amex after you bought it?

The wording seems standard terms only and is the same as 'AmEx: Spend $250 at David Jones and Get $50 Back (Bank Issued Cards Work Now!)'
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/125697

I haven't used the supplementary card or bank issued card buy it yet.
But I bought one yesterday using the Amex Amex card right after I saved the offer through Amex Online with no problem.

  • Does nespresso or david jones accept these?

  • This is great with the Target buy $60 or more and get $10 off on Saturday. Source: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/125612. Buy the Westfield giftcard $50 (get $10 off from Amex) then spend the giftcard on Saturday at Target plus $11 (because you need more than $60 to spend) then get $10 off from Target. Effectively, you are saving $17.05 ($20 - service fee of $2.95).

  • Thanks. We ordered one

  • It's only 1x$10 credit?

E.g. buy 2x$50 gift cards but only get 1x$10 credit?

    • 1x$10 credit per registered Amex credit card. (Supplementary Cards need to be registered separately and can get credit $10 credit )
If you have two or more Amex credit cards, you can buy two or more $50 gift cards using different registered cards and get two or more $10 credit.

PS. There is a service fees per card for Westfield Gift Card: $2.95
The fee is unavoidable, no matter you buying it Online or over the Concierge Desks.

  • I registered with one of my supplementary cards, got confirmation email, made a purchase through the website, followed all the rules etc, did not receive a $10 credit. Who should I contact? Amex or Westfield?

    • Amex should be the first party to contact. Although it would probably take some time for the credit to appear so u may want to wait afew more days

This deals works well with the Parramatta Westfield 2 Movie ticket deal!

    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/125355

We went to Parramatta Westfield today to buy $200 Westfield Gift card. Have registered 4 different AMEX card in my family with supplementary card holders on this $50 to $10 credit deal.

You can split your payment on the Concierge Desk paid $50 on each card $50 + $50 + $50 +$52.95 on each card at the desk and the man happy for us to do that.

After the purchase and check all emails have trigger the deal with $10 credit.

Real spending is $162.95. This is a $200 gift card + two free movie ticket. Get $40 credit together for paid $162.95

    No complaint!

    • i have 2 cards on the same account.. that wouldn't be counted as 2 cards would it?

supplementary card holders?? is it additional card holder?

      • +1

Your supp cards have to be different card numbers. Amex supp cards are like that, but bank-issued ones usually have the same number.

      • use additional cardholder. we have 4 together and different credit card numbers

bank issue or amex issue should all have different amex numbers

go to parramatta westfield to buy if you can. the movie deal with them expire end of today 6/12/13

        • Our Westpac Amex share the same numbers between primary and secondary cardholders.
Never thought about different card numbers would make such a big difference until seeing all these Amex deals. Wish our cards have different card numbers.

        • same here.. CBA issued amex.. one number for both cards :(

        • we have NAB and ANZ is different

    • Thats a good idea.. By splitting the payment you also only pay the service fee once.

    • I wasn't able to do that at Westfield Eastgardens.
Asked for 6 x $50 Gift card and it totalled $317.70
They said its $2.95 service fee per card and not per transaction :(
They said they weren't able to split 6 credit cards anyway as the system wouldnt take it:p

      • +1

Why did you ask for 6 x $50 rather than 1 x $300? The service fee is indeed $2.95 per card.

        • Oh I didn't think of that :( Bugger

  • Not giving free postage any more. Supposed to last until Dec. 6 but now saying that it has expired.

    • freepost worked (automatically applied) - 52.95$ for 50$ card

      • Maybe it's a single-use only (through Cookies), since the first time I went there it was automatically applied, but then the second time I forgot to do it and it wasn't. So if it doesn't work try deleting cookies?

  • Silly question. When do the gift card expire and is there a delivery fee now with the freepost code no longer working?

    • The gift card expires one year after issued.
I bought it in store, not quite sure about the code. Sorry

      • Thx

  • +1

Can confirm the FREEPOST coupon works on the mobile phone website (the mobile website is web.westfieldgiftcards.com.au but doesn't work from PC)

  • can anyone confirm if u buy a $97.05 gift card and pay the $2.95 fee with two registered amex credit cards totalling $50 each on the same transaction will you get 2x$10 back?

    • I doubt if someone would risk it for a $3 difference.

      • well i did and i can confirm it works since i got the confirmation emails within 2 mins. thus if you have a few cards just pay $2.95 once by splitting the payments in $50 multiples.

  • for an amex amex, is signing up via this link different to the saved deal on americanexpress.com? in effect can i get 2x $10 credits if i buy two gift cards?

    • answered my own question, it is the same thing - you can only register once

  • I made use of the deal and got myself a saving of almost $25 because I combined it with my coles discount card at Target.

Except on the way home I ran a red light (accidentally… followed a bus and didn't see it had turned red until after I crossed.) and will get hit with a fine of $400+, so now I wish I never got out of bed. :(

  • Do you guys know if woolies accept these cards? I can see that coles and myer don't.

    • Found the answer here

    • if you purchas xs card, yes. but the service charge is higher

  • +1

    FREEPOST is working

  • +1

FYI, Myer now accepts Westfield gift cards.

    • Oh cool. Where did you hear this news?

      • +1

        Email from Westfield.

  • did anyone one got the AMEX cash back? I got the DJ, Event cinemas and liquorland cash back but not this one.

    • Got it the next day or so
