Just received a card in the post today from Oroton regarding this sale which is pretty good, seeing as they rarely have sales and the ones I have seen in the past have only been 30% off.

Please note that the sale starts on Wednesday 13 May and finishes on Sunday 17 May 2009 - so I don't think the code will work just yet.

EDIT: this code will work with the Oroton online store ONLY. To receive the discount instore you will have to present the original card, simply quoting the code won't be sufficient.

    Oh, forgot to say, first post, be nice :P lol NOT!!!!! If you don't like the deal, then say so. I dunno what it is with all the recent OzB newbs having to end with that line, like a negative comment will bring their world crashing down.

    In other news, just noticed this sale also applies to certain Polo Ralph Lauren products at selected Myer, DJs and Polo stores. However to avail yourself of that offer you will need to present this orotongroup postcard that they've sent out.

      Yes, that's correct, you don't need the card when ordering online, just type the promo code when placing your order. However to receive the discount instore you have to present the card.

      Umm yes, the site won't automatically slash prices by 50% during the sale period, you will need to enter the code as it is not a public offer.

      Yes, ONLY online. To get the discount in store you will need to present the original postcard which Oroton has sent out, you can't just walk in and quote the code for a discount.

      It's because as lily said below, everyone is hammering the website to see what is available so they can order on the 1st day before the online stocks run out, as they cant use this deal instore unless they too receive the card from orotongroup.

      I too only just managed to get on the site :) If by over inflated you mean have they bumped up prices for the sale then the answer is no. Oroton's products are always that price, and the reason they rarely go on sale are because they make pretty good quality stuff that are in high demand. You can check out the quality/price of their goods in myers and DJs stores.

      No they are just hard to find. Go to "gifts for men" or "gifts for women" and then scroll right to the bottom and in the list of links in grey there is a "Gift Card" one. ;)

          When I was at the Birkenhead Point store earlier today I saw a girl come from the back room and tell the 2 checkout chicks that apparently some gift cards have been sold online at 50% so if anyone tries to pay with giftcard just doublecheck if it's ok with her.

          I think this might be so people who managed to get the giftcards at 50% don't come into the store with the F&F card for a 50% discount whilst paying for the goods with their already 50% off giftcards ie buying goods at 75% off.

          Either way good luck and hope you get the giftcards.

    for those who will try the old google cache method to access the gift cards, don't bother, coz I did - once you try to add the gift card from the cached page it disappears as the gift cards have been removed from oroton's system.

    hope those who managed to nab some have their orders honoured.

        Store has 50% off if you received the card from Oroton.

        Same story at Parramatta. They have a security guard letting one person in every 5 or so mins, felt like I was queuing for a club lol.

        Birkenhead point wasn't too busy though and they are an outlet store which means you get 50% off the already reduced prices. Needless to say my magic card got a thorough work out here :)

    Yes, I ordered 11.20 PM last night before the sale start and the discount code worked. I supposed they probably don't have standby IT person to enabled discount from 12 AM. But anyway… I got wallet, keyring and very nice umbrella to go with my handbag LOL. Oroton barely have sale like this so yeah…I can't understand why people went crazy instore or online LOL.

    I sent my brother down to get a few items for me, and he was able to purchase items without the card.

    There are just too many ppl in store, the shop assistants aren't going to refuse sale, unless they're really tight about it

    He wasn't really happy about having to push through all the women to get my umbrellas. They sold out fast online!!!
    Glad i asked him to go, he got the last ones!

    Yes you can most likely purchase at the discount rate in store, provided that you are on the O-list. I had not been on their database when they searched (as I had signed up to the O-list online the night befre), however, i stated that I should be as I filled a form out in store last year and also signed up online.. so they added me to the list in store and gave me 50% with no hassles.

    Im still yet to receive an invoice acknowledgement on the gift card purchases (although have received one for the other order of products online).

    I have noticed that there intermediary credit card company "OROTON ETAILING SYDNEY NSW" has charged my card though … so fingers are still crossed.

    Went to Oroton shop in Canberra Centre and got a sunglasses. I was a bit hesitant to buy online until I tried it. No card needed. Shop Assistant gave everyone 50% OFF but they don't put the sale up instore. There was queue instore and door was closed to limit customers inside but it went pretty quick.

    Powerevolution, Oroton items are rarely go on sale like this. People know that and this is probably the best sale they ever offered as far as I remember. I have one Oroton wallet I bought 8 years ago and still look great despite regular use.

    confirmed ladies and gents.. you can now pretty much rock up to any oroton store and get 50% off without the card, there's so many ppl at the stores that staff cant be stuffed checking who has the card.. having said that do as AlexDj says above and just sign up online before rocking up to the store in case the staff at your outlet are tight..

    @quackster: this deal has definitely taken a chunk, if not all, of many people's stimulus payments harhar :)

    Got my two brief cases and a wallet. I still think it is over price after 50% for what I got. I am not happy with the simple two prong key for the lock. A child could easy open this. I expected more space but hard to judge online. Oh well, ebay time.
