How do you lose a PS3 on a train?

  • Have fun trying to find a parking near there - it was pretty bad during the salvaged vehicles auction, betcha it's worse for these kinda major events.

  • it amuses me surfboards, furniture, plasma TVs and printers are among citirail lost property

and no matter how many times they change their name it's not going to make shittyrail any less shitty

    • Sydney shitty glady's rail!

  • I've been. There was literally a tinny boat, apparently found inside of a train? Anyway, go a bit later. They sell all the crap stuff, small stuff like hats, and whatever.

Be warned, some of the iPods and stuff do go for near what you'd pay on Gumtree.

How does one lose a boat on a train?

      • I'm assuming some young lads would have picked it up from somewhere after a night out and thought it was pretty hilarious.

And how do people lose safes and filling cabinets?

How do you lose your wheelchair?

  • Yeah and if those phones are on contract and you made a bid your screwed with a locked phone or if its barred. City rail does not even let you inspect the items, to much of a gamble.

The majority of iPods/iPhones/Android Phones/Windows Phones would be linked to an iTunes/Apple/Google/Microsoft account, they could email the owners and inform them that they have located their lost property instead of being dicks and selling them off.

    • locked screens?

Peeping Tom has left behind few binoculars in the train.

This is the Complete listing of items being sold.

  • Holy cow, how many phones are lost

    • My thoughts exactly!

  • what happens if items were not sold, not exactly possible as there will be these gumtree and other such punters who will be buying and reselling, but yet…???

I went to airport lost property auction last month at that venue.

    Prices are crazy high…. madness….

There were about 15 macbook pros, every single one sold above RRP. Some sold 40% above RRP

Maybe they're hoping to find someone's home adult movie collection?

    • Most people at auction are stupid and get 'lost' in the moment

  • is there any auction of the same kind in Melbourne?

  • +1

Left my 10 cans of spray paint on the train as well as a few markers. Reckon I can buy em back ;)

  • Auctioning lost things are wrong, the owners must be very upset. Could have located th easily, with the information on the iphone itself.

hopefully they have insurance and get their carrier to ban the phone. I mean no hate to the potential buyer, but the they obviously make no effort in returning these goods(phones I generally mean)…..
P.S Its still in the owners best interest to take care of their goods, but accidents happen….

      • Why hopefully? I'm guessing that if the owner of the phone went to the lost property they could most likely get it back there.

        • some people can't remember the last place they had their items…

What is the cheapest way to get rid of your non-working electrical goods? Leave it on the train on the way to work.

Then some poor bastard will buy it and then realise that it doesn't actually work.

  • +2

I bet you they weren't even handed to the police. The police has a system to find out the owner of the phones number.

    • Once they hand the phones into police they don't get them back, If the owner of the phone doesn't go to the station the phones eventually get destroyed.

You used to be able to keep them if no one claimed them but now they have 'private information' on them and have to be destroyed
