    How much does Creditcardfinder get for every person who signs up? $80?

    • It's between $200-$400 - can't remember the exact figure. It was disclosed in the paperwork when I got a credit card through them about a month ago.

    …you should probably post some pertinent information like annual fee, interest rates, etc.

    • great suggestion! added to the description

    And the 'eligible purchase' amount is how much? Because it's not stated on your site

    • Eligible Purchases means purchases made using the Card Account which are not excluded under Clause 5 of the Terms and Conditions

      The following are not Eligible Purchases, and you will not earn Points or Bonus Points in respect of them:
      • cash advances;
      • Balance Transfers;
      • interest charges;
      • credit fees and charges;
      • bank fees and charges;
      • transactions we decide are disputed due to being fraudulent or which involve an abuse of your Card Account;
      • foreign exchange purchases;
      • travellers cheques;
      • all purchases for gaming or gambling transactions including gambling chip purchases and online gambling purchases;
      • Government charges (other than GST payable in connection with the purchase of goods or services on which you earn Points);
      • credit card protection insurance;
      • Business Related Expenses; and
      • any other transactions which from time to time may be excluded by Bankwest.

      • Can you pay BAS or Annual Tax Bills with this and still get points with this?

    • If I wanted those points, what would I do?

      Sign up, get the points, and then cancel the card?

      I wonder how much money 16,000 qantas points are worth…

    Wait, its $160 annual fee for 18,000 Qantas points?

    Why would I pick this over say the Macquarie Platinum card which offers 40,000 points and 2 Qantas club vouchers for $99.

    Or the HSBC Platinum card which offers 35,000 points and 2 Qantas club vouchers for $199.

    Or even the Woolworths Platinum card offers 16,000 points for a $89 annual fee.

    What is the point of getting this card? Why is it a bargain?

      What is the point of getting this card? Why is it a bargain?

      Because those other ones you've mentioned don't earn creditcardfinder any commission!

    • Hi Coley.

      Thanks for the comment.

      This credit card offers the ability to earn rewards without foreign transaction fees. It also normally doesn't come with a bonus Qantas points offer.

    citibank platinuma and signature card offer is awesome too - no bonus points but free membership for life

    What's the income requirements for this card in platinum?

    • Bankwest don't advertise their minimum income requirements anymore. Back in the day, it used to be $50,000 p.a. but now it's determined on a per application basis depending on your debt serviceability based on your income, expenses etc.

  • +2

    $160/yr plus 20% interest rate. Now that's a dam fine bargain.

  • 18K FF points for a $160 outlay is not really a bargain. There are much better credit card offers for new signups available.

    Don't forget that this card charges no foreign-exchange fees on purchases, too.

    As a person who will be spending a lot overseas next year (about $15k) I am thinking that this deal should be great for me, however when I add the numbers it still doesn't prove to be great vs the alternatives.

    Bankwest: $160 = 18k points, + potentially 15k* more points from my spend = 33k points.
    HSBC: $199 = 35k points + 2 qantas club vouchers
    Macquarie: $99 = 40k points + 2 qantas club vouchers
    CBA: $129 = 35k
    Woolworths: $89 = 16k

    None of these other cards offer free international transactions, but can easily add on a free 28 degrees/citibank plus/bankwest zero platinum, these cards don't give points but i'll make more from the signups than i would from the points overseas.

    So as someone who will be spending a bit more than the usual overseas next year, I still am not finding this deal favourable, who exactly would? It'd need to be someone pushing through about 25k overseas (at 2c per point) to be competitive with the macquarie card, and that's without even considering that QF Club vouchers are worth about $50 each.

    If they can do a half price sign up ($80) or can do a bigger QF bonus, then i'll be a very interested.

    *And if bankwest lock up my card for whatever reason because i'm O/S, then the entire punt is wasted.
